Hopefully I don't miss out on Discovery points etc from this.

Crazy that we trust these muppets with our data!

Yup, been down since last night...

Mine has been down since yesterday morning. Came back from my run just after 8 and wasn't able to access the Garmin coach stuff to see how I did.

Where can I get a 3rd party firmware for my Garmin so that I can store my own workout data on my own hardware?

You cant.
Edit: Half of the Garmin lure is their ecosystem and software, the devices would be a lot less useful without that.

Connect still says server maintenance, but managed to upload my activities..

We are happy to report that Garmin Connect recovery is underway. We’d like to thank you for your understanding and patience as we restore normal operations.

Definitely some progress going on.

I wonder if they payed the ransom?

The big question is whether or not the company paid the blackmailer what is likely to be a multi-million dollar demand.

It seems the company has somehow got the decryption key it needs to start bringing services back online.

My training programmes (Garmin coach) aren't syncing to the watch... Anyone else have a similar issue?

Edit: I see on their status page this is a known error
