Allocate hardware to emulate/run as graphics card

HI,

This is a problem that I have been stuck with for a while.

I recently got a new laptop for my birthday. When I got it it was a high end notebook with an intel graphics card.

I have one problem though, I like to game but almost all games lag because of the lack of a proper graphics card.

Is there a way to allocate system hardware in order to emulate or run as a graphics card? and if not is there a way to allocate hardware to the graphics card already onboard?

The important specs are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz
RAM: 2 GB

Please let me know if you have any information that can help me.

P.S. The motherboard is non-upgradable.

sorry forgot to mention that I would like to use one of the cores and about 512MB of memory for this "emulated graphics card" if at all possible.

Sadly not. The onboard video is already taking ram away from system ram to act as the graphics cards. There is a video chip that is somewhere on the motherboard as well.

I don't think what you want to do is possible, though I may be wrong. I also don't think there's any external graphics devices that could help you either.

How do you want to emulate a graphics card? A dedicated graphics-card is a purpose-built piece of hardware with a specific architecture. No other piece of hardware could be "allocated" to it by means of software emulation. This is the first time I've heard someone with this request...

Not really a high-end laptop if it has onboard graphics

Thats the bad thing about laptops, they just arent suppose to play games really Unless you get one of those R40 000 ones... Also ofcourse the fact that you cant really upgrade in the gfx department... Just not space, have you see the 280 its bigger than a laptop

There's an external graphics card that might work, i remember seeing one at prophecy shop a while back.

And ATI is also busy researching in an external "power" graphics card

ah this is so annoying, and to put the cherry on top, my moms buying a laptop with higher specs and a 8600 mobile for the same price...for office use?!

Hardware-accelerated graphics can, as far as I know, not be emulated
