AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux as as Centos replacement

Are you using Alma or Rocky as a Centos replacement?

Are you using Bullseye in production ? If so, which firewalling tool are you using?

I went with Alma after examining how both were conducting themselves online & from the experiences people I know that work with CloudLinux went. Basically, Alma has faster releases, support for more architectures at the moment, corporate sponsorship, and no permissive PBC governance model which guarantees no similar fate to that of CentOS.

Time will tell though, but I don't foresee either doing poorly in the near future.

I use it mostly on my workstations, for my home servers I'm in the process of learning to use nftables currently. That said, is there an issue you're facing?

firewalld is just a wrapper around nftables.

In RHEL 8.2 and higher, the firewalld backend defaults to using "nftables".
Likewise SUSE has also set nftables as the default backend for firewalld.

Yep! Only wanted to learn the backend more hands-on as I mostly use firewalld zones + routing.
