Hi guys, quick question, has anybody used this method to get S-OFF on their phone? I want to know how long it takes cause mine has been busy for almost an hour... it says very big not to switch of the phone or it WILL get bricked, so yeah I'm not gonna touch it... but I need to go home and now I'm sitting and waiting for this :/

Hey, I have used this method, but it only took a couple seconds.
If you stay stuck for a while then i guess the only thing to do is pull the phone and hope for the best.
If you do happen to have a working phone when you pull, then try flashing your phone to the stock rom (i.e HTC 2.2) before you try again, I have heard of many problems where people were on gingerbread roms when they tried to flash. If you dont have the rom as a nandroid backup, then you can run an ruu, then try s-off, then reroot, otherwise restoring the stock rom from a nandroid should be fine. :)
Hope that helps, and hope you come right :)

Eish...I really want to avoid pulling with this "it WILL brick!!" message staring me in the face... I can stay here till 6pm then I really need to leave so I'll probably pull it then :/ dammit

Weird thing is its not giving me any errors or anything, PC says "waiting for flashing to complete" after step 3, and the phone is on the white screen with little android skateboarder at the bottom.

yeah could not get on the name now... yeah its got the normal screen it always had, top line reads "BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON"

Ok, in that case, im 99,2% sure that if you pull it should be fine, it hasnt touched the hboot yet.
What I would do, is pull the phone, (if its still stuck) then see if it starts up (99% sure it will).
Then go into recovery and flash the stock ROM. Once thats done, try it again.
Also if you try again, try a different USB port, and are you using the alpharev live cd? the one you boot from?

/me watching thread very closely as I was about to use Alpharev to restore mine to S-ON

for some reason ruu did not flash hboot and I am still on revolutionary's hboot.

hmmm damn that did not feel good at all, haha, but yeah it makes sense cause the hboot is still showing normally! It is still running fine though, so thats good, but no S-OFF, which stock ROM would you recommend I use?

Yes I have the live CD version

afaik, you cant use alpharev to go back to s-on? you have to ruu.

Aaah crap... thanx for the up. Just downloaded it earlier, thought it might be able to.

Dam back to xda I go and yes I tried ruu from shippedroms for my phone.

Update: Ok I see where I did not read properly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224670&page=2

what was your original Hboot number?
see alpharev page, if your model is supported try this -
flash HBOOT bravo_downgrader and right after that run appropriate RUU wich contains default hboot to protect extended warranty
as a result of this process you become S-ON again with stock Hboot

Where this all started is I want to flash the Sense 3.5 ROM to check it out, the Runnymede one, but I just get boot loops on every runnymede ROM I try... Tried Ext4 partitioning with Gparted, with mini tool partition wizard and it seems fine, thought I might as well try the S-OFF thing as well :)

Any idea why I get the boot loops maybe?

I had a nanDroid of mine, but if you don't, I guess ruu is the only option afaik, or If you feeling adventurous, you can try any ROM with a 2.2 base, and then go from there.

Not sent from an IPhone of any sort, sent from my leeDroid powered Desire :)

Probably cause you need a different hboot or access to system partition, which can only be done with soff.

Thought as much, thats why I tried the S-OFF :) never had the need untill now, will try at home again and post back! Thanks for the help!

Exact same reason I want to return to stock to see if its because of hboot

I started getting boot loops since I flashed revolution's hboot (went that root to try and get s-off)

Aaah crap.... it seems to be hardware, my reboot loop problem. Well at least I am on 100% stock now.

lol, there a reason you want to be on stock again?

I have a reboot problem as well, but thats because my phone was in water 3 times already! Only does it while under stress and charging at the same time though, so it's not affecting me to much.

Was going to sell it seeing that I replaced it with my Sony Xperia but seeing that it reboots when it feels like it I am giving it away

I give up....RUU installed, boot loop... wtf :/

Ouch, same is my old one... in fact it sounds like you have the exact same problems I had. to test place battery in fridge for a minute or 2 and see if it works after that. If yes join the club.

I know its not funny for you, lucky I have a Xperia play and a DHD so not a problem for me.
