Altcoin trading

In my completely uneducated opinion, I think now's a good time to buy Ethereum. My buy order has finally been hit!

Of course, it may continue to drop but that's for you to decide.

I hope you guys bought yesterday when I said. Even if you sell now you would have made a nice profit.

Couldn't do anything with alts, but did make some gains with BTC at least. I'll either mine into or deposit my own BTC into Bittrex this weekend and then use that as a base going forward.

Antshares (NEO) rocketing

https://www.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-ANS

Also moved from insignificant to number 16 on coinmarketcap in couple of weeks, will probably overtake zcash soon in market cap.

EDIT: Correction, number 14 now, and bigger market cap than zcash.

If interested in buying NEO, use https://www.binance.com as they do not have a withdrawal fee. Buy a small amount of BNB first, and make sure you use that for fees when buying NEO as it's 50% cheaper. Only send whole numbers of NEO to your wallet for transfers as NEO are indivisible shares. Suggested to buy at next (hopeful) NEO dip or possible BTC dip before 1/8

I am watching it.

But still deep in SIA right now.

What sets antshares apart?

People keep on saying it is (going to be) the Ethereum of China, if that is accurate I don't know. It does support an upscaled approach to smart contracts and is programming language independent.

Then:

Antshares has some high profile partners listed on its site, including Wings, Alibaba, and Microsoft.

The collaboration with Wings is an R&D partnership. From Wings's press release: "The strategic cooperation enables European and North American DAO projects to into tap the Chinese cryptocurrency community, and Chinese start-ups to do the same with European and North American communities. Further, the two organizations agree to coordinate resources on mutual business opportunities, and promote joint hackathons to drive ecosystem innovation."

The collaboration with Microsoft relates to Microsoft Azure, specifically a legal blockchain project of some kind.

From a technical perspective, there are 100 000 000 antshares (NEO). There will also be 100 000 000 antcoins (renamed to GAS) in circulation which will be emitted over a period of 22 years at a decreasing rate. Owning NEO will be the POS for GAS generation. This will have a ratchet-leveraging effect, if GAS gains value then ANS will be sought after for generating it.

Okey I'll buy a few, better to have a 100 or so just in case it goes boom than to own 0.

Antshares (NEO) are whaled, and it are those investors which will score. I have purchased a couple and only moved 20 Shares to the AntShares Core where I have only accumulated around 0,085 Coin (GAS) in approx. 30 days.

To quote the whitepaper,

Issuance of AntCoins

AntCoins are generated with every new block. The initial amount of ANC is zero while it will grow to 100 million after 22 years. The generation gap of every other block is 15 seconds, so it takes 1 year for 2 million blocks to generate.

In the first year (Block No. 0-No. 2,000,000), 8 ANC will be generated by every new block. In the second year (Block No. 2,000,000-No. 4,000,000), 7 ANC will be generated by every new block. With this pace of decrease (-1 ANC per year), in the 8th year, only 1 ANC will be generated by every new block. This 1-block-1-ANC pace will continue since then, till the 44,000,000th block in the 22nd year, fulfilling the 100 million total sum of ANC. ANC shall cease to be generated after that.

With this pace, 16% of the ANC will be created in the 1st year, 52% through the 4th year while 80% through the 12th year.

ANC will be written into the corresponding ANS addresses proportionally. ANS holders could claim these ANC to their ANS address anytime they wish to. For example, a shareholder who has 1% of all the ANS could acquire 8*0.01=0.08 ANC in every block of the 1st year, meaning 460.8 ANC everyday.

By this rate I will only accumulate 1 Coin annually. As some has suggested, it may be better to invest in GAS than in NEO as a small-time investor. My other NEO is still on Bittrex where I will trade when it hits around $10.

It is all still a gamble.

Currently I have put much into EOS, but I don’t want to move them to MyEtherWallet as there has been some discrepancies security wise. Currently my EOS is still stored on Kraken, but Exodus has recently added EOS support.

@Fulcrum Agreed, to some extent. My interest in NEO is long term, as in 3 to 5 years min. Over the long term anything can happen, including new technology that surpasses NEO, that's why I am keeping it relatively limited. There may also be short term trading opportunities where buying GAS as opposed to relying on dividend generation may pay off.

Consider that GAS is only tradeable on one exchange that I know of so far (19800.com) and is already worth over $2. This could however be possibly related to the initial ICO.

NEO @ +-$20, bought in at $3 to $5 in increments. Reached number 10 on coinmarketcap. 24 hour trading volume higher than many of the top 10 so could be 'whales' playing the game.
