Good day everybody

A couple of months ago I ordered an iPhone 5 on MTN from Altech. After receiving the usual bad service and waiting for weeks to get the phone, they eventually delivered.
The problem is then that the contract says the deal includes :

iPhone 5 + contract + car charger

I took delivery of the phone and the sales agent informed that they don't have stock of the car charger, but will order me one. After another few weeks of hassling them, they eventually went to the back of the store and gave me a generic car charger. I refused to accept that and the manager told me that this is the only charger they supply with the phone.

What recommend course of action can I take regarding this matter, as I feel that it is deceptive marketing for them to supply generic units with their contracts and not clearly stipulate that in the terms and conditions?
I have already spoken with the manager and call centre agent.

Did they state that you would get a Apple car charger® or just a car charger?

Just had a look at the websites there are lots of phones that are offered with Car Charges, no where does it mention the brand or make of the car charger.

So don't know why you would expect to be issued with a specific one just because you took an iPhone.

Hmm, you pose an interesting question. I am new to the Apple world and made the assumption that Apple would make their own car chargers. Is there any Apple fanboys that could maybe shed some additional light.
I checked the Apple store and I just see the Just and Belkin brands.

On the contract package, it does not say "Apple" car charger, so I guess they have covered themselves.
The problem is that they use deceptive marketing tactics as prospective shoppers buying into the Apple brand will not think that they are paying for generic products.

So you yourself were wooed by the shiny Apple? :D

One thing I would suggest making sure of is the connector is correct. I was shipped an 'iPhone5 charging kit' which had the old wide connector.

Yes, the glossy apple blind-sided me completely :-)
It seems like I will just have to settle for the generic they are offering then. Thanks for the heads-up about the connector.
