I just want to hoard all the XRP I can.
Such a stable chart.
Cheap enough to buy thousands and make profit

I managed to get a couple thousand back when it was $0.12, and averaging the cost of all my buys, I paid around $0.19/XRP, which I'm very happy about. I don't see it going very high very soon, but I'm in it for a long hold.

I'm done with ICOs

Just hodling Monero (Bought at $84) and playing around with some ****coins
I'm also done with ICO's that are selling $0.5 - $1 tokens. In most cases those tokens sell for less when they hit the exchanges and you get them at ICO or even below ICO prices. I was on the presale whitelist for a few projects and the minimum amounts they're asking for are staggering. Zilliqa had a $150k minimum buy for the private pre-sale. Then 10k and many with $1000 minimum.

And all this without any kind of audit or any independently verified assurance that their project is legit.

Jip. I bought 5000 universa tokens last month and decided I want a cool 10 000 so will buy the rest after payday this month.
Just sold another ****coin for profit and dumped it into Universa. I'm done now. Universa looks cool, but I ain't expecting a $0.5 token any time soon.

Beware hackers targeting Altcointrader accounts. Have 2fa enabled on your account. Three attempts were made to access my account in the past 24 hours and it's now locked. They tried to reset the password and brute force it. Luckily the account is now locked.

That said, I need to figure out how anyone knows I have an account on Altcointrader and what the associated email address is without Altcointrader itself being compromised.

Is there an altcointrader rep in here?

I am.

TBH, I have no idea what goes on with the staking.

I was investigating B3 earlier this morning. As I understand the current staking won't last for much longer and the exorbitant payouts caused a price plummet, which is of course a golden opportunity to buy in for a master node should this project go anywhere. Also, as I understand, they have not announced how many coins will be needed for a masternode :(

OK.... I may have stumbled across how my account login for AltcoinTrader ended up in the wild... looks like it could have been part of the hetzner hack.

I have since changed the email account used for Altcointrader.
It would have been nice if Altcointrader could have confirmed this when I emailed them - would have made a lot of sense. I have just emailed them for comment.

There were a couple of factors causing the recent NEO spike, but one of them seems of note for future decisions.

There was an announcement by NEO in Chinese a couple of days ago regarding 'important news in 3 days' which coincided exactly with the NEX decentralized exchange countdown. The exchange will make use of a NEO based token, NEX, for which holders will be payed out a portion of fees from the exchange. Apart from that it also seems NEO will be the only platform by which Chinese ICOs will be legally performed (it has mechanisms to comply with regulation).

NEX will announce an ICO (for NEX tokens) sometime in the coming days. It is not impossible that there could be another NEO/GAS spike coinciding with that. https://neonexchange.org/

Anyone putting large sums of money into ICO's better know that the risk is real & likely. The lack of auditing & regulation on ICO's is something that will forever deter me from putting anything more than a few hundred dollars into them.

Investigating masternodes, I decided on Solaris XLR. It requires 1000 coins though (currently $0.88/coin) which is steep. The positives are no ICO, what comes across as competent and committed devs that actually respond to questions and a non money-grabbing vibe.

XLR is however mineable up to block 259200 (currently at 61383) before switching to PoS. A single 1070 mines just under 3 XLR per day.

And Solaris XLR does what exactly?

And Solaris XLR does what exactly?

In relative terms, some impressive and some mediocre features. It is a DASH software fork. Masternode based coins are still limited in number and those released after DASH are mostly successful.

MASTERNODES

Masternodes are computers that run a Solaris wallet and make decisions, such as locking transactions with SwiftTX, coordinate obfuscation of coins, and voting on budget funding. Masternodes are required to have 1000 XLR collateral and be able to run 24 hours a day without a more than a 1 hr connection loss

My suggestion is to mine some XLR for a couple of days (ccminer with xevan support required).

SUPER FAST

60 seconds as block time is already very fast. In spite of that solaris users may use SwiftTX to make transactions instantaneous thus enabling the sending coins with ZERO confirmation wait time required.

SEESAW REWARDS

To promote an even ratio between staking nodes and masternodes in the network. The Solaris use a variable Seesaw Reward Balance System that dynamically adjusts its block reward size between masternodes and staking nodes. The seesaw rewards was originally developed by PIVX team.

PRIVACY

Already extremely secure and private, with an optional feature to completely anonymize transactions. Solaris is aiming at establishing one of the first truly anonymous crypto-currency. Soon, we will be using Zerocoin Protocol as our Full-time Transaction Protocol.

SECURE

Built on Bitcoin Core 0.10.x. with some v0.13.2 updates and Dash core v0.12.1 BIP38 Encryption/Decryption of Private Keys.

ASIC RESISTANT

SolarisCoin uses XEVAN as mining and spork algorithm. This algorithm was originally found by Bitsend (BSD) and has proven to protect against ASIC mining hardware.
