Some days I do not have time to go to the gym, do a 45 minute session, etc.

So my alternative excercise is climbing the steps in my 6 storey apartment building. I did 640 steps this morning! Holy Mother of Jane Fonda :D I sweated more than I do during my normal gym cardio session!!!

Do you ever do steps? I know it's a good cardio workout, but does it have more benefits?

You ever tried it?

You have to maintain 10 000 steps a day. (walking) (doctors orders)
Now i worked out what i do in 10 min. 1200 steps.
That means i have to keep my pace for 84 minutes.
Fark me i'm going to be fat foreva!!!

I do think steps you climb should count for more but freak...

I do step training, but its usually a fairly quick jog up the flight, then a walk down. Squat jumping up stairs is also fairly intensive, but it does pound my knees a bit.. sadly i have no stairs where i stay, so its usually off to athletics stadiums etc for this.

My motivation for gym is traffic avoidance. Works well.

I never do steps! It's just to little effort in that... Squatting 160kg is much better :D and I always make space for gym, the whole two hours of it!

Hmm, but this is different - it's not walking on a straight surface; it is climbing, so the resistance is more.

Also, your body fights against the gravity of climbing 'uphill' all the time. Oh and also, every alternate flight of stairs, I climb two steps at a time :)
