Good people

I need a quote from RENTOKIL for dealing with ants in my house, and I have left 3 messages with their reception, only to be told each time that a technician/consultant will call me ... to no avail.

Any other pest control company that you can recommend ?

Thanks

What have you done youself so far?

You need to obviosly clean properly, I'm pretty sure u do though.
Another thing is weeds, especially on brick paving near your house and it's walls.
They build their nests under them.

So pour some nice boiling water on the weeds, leave them a while and rip them out.

a few years back I dealt with http://www.trulynolen.co.za (you will laugh when they rock up in their company car) ---- but this was done in a complex to get rid of ants/termites - never paid anything for it, but service was quite good.

The surprising part of all of this is that I live in an apartment on the second floor ... !

Thanks. I wonder why their did not charge you? Did the trustees pay for it?

Then you'll have to follow them and see where they are from.
Could find a long string of them crawling up the wall - must be something yummy for them.

They leave a scent behind to find your place, so you'll need to wash that away as well.

There's some stuff called Dyant / Dynest or something, you spray it on the buggers and then it kills their queen.
It's in Pick and Pay.

Was paid by the trustees. I had similar ant-issues now, but have resolved to use a small chemical bomb ;-)
1) Antpoison (can't remember the name, but came in 500g container and are brown little pellets which attract ants and contains slow-working poison which also kills their queen
2) Doomed all visible traces of entry
3) Put up those green ant-traps.

Have not seen a single ant in two weeks, but those little bastards seem to rock up in waves (i.e. every 4-6 weeks). The Truly-Nolen stuff was (in my mind) fairly expensive - about 5K per house in complex (and these where highly discounted rates) - they "injected" stuff in the ground as well
as fumigated the house - I moved out 2 months after that, and can't really vet how long it lasted though.

I know you are not in PE, but I use the company "Bug Off". Honest, very thorough and good follow service.
