OK.. so my SO has a work thing to attend tomorrow but her mother wants her to go to a family birthday function thing. So as her family is leaving in the morning and the work thing is until 12 and her car is in for repairs her Mom said "Why don't you take Waffl3s with you?" ..now mind you me and my SO have been together for 2 years and meeting the family is a biggish deal. She didn't like the idea as she had introduced her ex-ex-ex BF to the family and they broke up and she doesn't want to introduce me in case we break up and it's far..her family is weird.
So I told her I would like to come and a mini-spat came about.. I said find..it's your family so your decision to make. She said she will rather just go with her mom in the morning. I said cool.
5 minutes later she calls and says we should go..
I say "Nah, it's alright. Feel like I pressured you. It's fine." She goes on to say she spoke to her mom and her mom said that as she is inviting me it shouldn't be weird. She calls her work and says she will be there and calls me to say. "OK, we are on".
Now.. after 2 years did I really have to go through all that just to show up at a family function? Am I just being weird?
