Hey Guys

But two minded with upgrades i planned for this week...

I asked for some advice in "The PC Build Thred" and got satisfactory answers and was initially planning on ordering the goodies on Saturday but never got round to it...

Then this articled popped up yesterday and got me in sorta two minds about the AM3+ upgrade i was planning.

So my big question is AM3+ or FM2/+? with the budget i planned to spend in post in PC Build Thread? And what would your reccomendations be if FM2?

Thanks!

will you playing new games like bf4?

i had fm2 running at 4ghz , was just just not enough cpu power for bf3 and crysis 3 , was limiting my gpu .

I suggest am3+ fx 6 core for the extra cpu power

that motherboard and cpu is good , get a custom cooler also , cpu's is easy to overclock also :)

I have fx 6300 6 core....get the CM hyper evo 212+ cooler..very good..im at 4.4 and cpu never go over 53...(few fans in case tho)

Just sorta want some assurance that the motherboard and cpu choices are all good... Though thinking of saving some bucks and going FX 8320 instead and add an aftermarket cooler..

That's a good combination there. When I wrote the article I was talking about a dead-end upgrade path for AM3+ - the hardware itself is still stellar. Happy gaming :) and be sure to post up pictures of your build when you do.

Will do thanks guys!

The build will be a bit slow though as budget is not a freely available, but nonetheless the cpu and motherboard will most probably be here by Friday (i hope) and will be sitting in the cupboard for 2weeks or so, then its on to the 16gb ram kit and a nice aftermarket cooler.

As for the gpu... I'll still slug it out with the good old faithfull MSI N250 GTS for a month or so, maybe even two months if i can hold out that long lmao! Cos i'd really try and see if i can stretch it for a 7970 but where the wife's concerned i'll most probably have to settle for something less expensive lol!

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to post developments as soon as it all falls into place...

why taking so long to get to u? they are also in cape town..somerset west...
