Amazon could pull the plug on new SA headquarters

There are probably plenty other sites just like this where you are against the traffic heading north and closer to the north/flat areas.

These are the areas that need the development.

Maybe near Rob Herzov's planned international airport north of Durbanville? Then you miss out CPT Int completely.

Airport with international connections?

Are Amazon opening a distribution facility or are they using the space for call centres/software development? If it's not a distribution facility, I don't see the significance of an airport close by?

Its not a distribution Centre, from what I understand its them relocating their developers and such.

Airport is still relevant as they would have a lot of business travel to and from the office

For staff that need to fly in and to get the product to an airport for distribution countrywide.

I don't know how people can be pro this development when reading things like this ?

How can we believe any of the promises when they use tactics like that.
Perhaps people are in favour of corruption when it is a wealthy international company they like doing it.

Pull the plug and say Fk it...
You guys see this on Carte Blanche...Pointless doing anything here anymore...Everyone wants a piece of pap pie.,...

Damn capitalists.

BREAKING NEWS LIVE | Judge dismisses Khoi leadership dispute in Amazon HQ cultural land battle

An urgent bid to get rid of the leader of a group of the Goringhaicona Khoi, who oppose the Amazon HQ development in Cape Town, was dismissed for lack of urgency on Wednesday.

Another faction claims that Taariq Jenkins' position of Ghoringhaicona Khoi Khoin Indigenous Traditional Council as a Supreme High Commissioner does not exist, and he did not consult with others over the opposition to the development.

Later on Wednesday afternoon, the court will hear an application by Jenkins' group for clarity on whether the building continuing at the site is an act of contempt of court, since the developers intend appealing the interdict.

Well, it may have worked a lot cheaper for Amazon to use this legal fees and transport all their equipment to Namibia and set up shop there. Someone still needs to be fired at Amazon.

He didn't. He's self appointed. He doesn't even have a list of who the descendants of the Goringhaicona are, many of which are famous name "whites" and "coloureds" that have documented direct descent from "Eva" Krotoa and her children after her marriage to the Danish Pieter van Meerhof and then the offspring of their children.
