Amazon could pull the plug on new SA headquarters

Amazon is running out of patience with delays to the R4.6-billion River Club multi-purpose complex in Cape Town. Should it withdraw, the developer would have to scrap the entire project.

The Sunday Times reports developer Liesbeek Leisure Property Trust (LLPT) filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court of Appeal this week with the warning.

Reminds me of AOC in all her wisdom losing New York an Amazon headquarters.

1. She wasn't alone in her protest and didn't "lose New York" anything, she saved New York $3bn that was going to be given to Amazon as an incentive.
2. Amazon still moved into New York, but without the $billions in incentives just months later.

Goringhaicona Khoi Khoin Traditional Council (GKKTC) and Observatory Civic Association

Yet many whites can prove and claim documented connections to the Goringhaicona due to being the offspring of "Eva" Kratoa (Van Riebeeck's kitchen helper and later translator) and her children due to Kratoa's marriage to the Danish Pieter van Meerhof. Famous "white" South African names can claim direct descendance from her. I don't see any represented on the Goringhaicona Khoi Khoin Traditional Council (GKKTC).

Or is this a money spinner only using politics and supposed "First Nation" status?

Can anybody explain to me why if this land is so sacred to these people, there is currently nothing there now?
Completely abandoned at one end and the other end they were fine with their being a pretty poor 9 hole golf course and weak (think chicken nuggets and burgers) restaurant.
Only cause problems too late when they realised they weren't getting "paid". Worst of the worst here, the courts should give it more certainty rather than less...

Welcome to SA. Someone in Amazon should be fired on the spot.
