Hi,

Anyone able to get showmax working on the Fire TV stick. I was able to sideload the app from my phone using Apps2Fire. The showmax app launches and I can navigate the menu on the side but no content gets loaded. I also can't sign into showmax. It is like only the framework is there but no content.

The Fire TV stick runs android so not sure what is needed to get it working.

I tried it as well. You need to have google play services installed to get showmax to work

The latest version of the android Showmax app now states - Android Media Player support, including Leanback UI, remote control input and higher resolution video on supported devices. This is version 9.2.0.f7238ca that was released on 27 Nov 2016.

I sideloaded this version of the app using Apps2Fire from my android phone and it works 100%
The UI works great and so does the remote. Finally now I can use my Fire TV stick to watch showmax.

Hopefully Showmax will release this version sometime on the amazon app store and officially support the Fire TV.

I Have been in contact with Showmax re the app for Amazon Fire TV. Told them I wanted to sign up, but without the app told them they have lost a customer. Their reaction- they were sorry to hear that? WTF? The app is being considered. I can't believe that all the major streaming devices are not covered. I am trying to go the legal route it's not easy.

Just sideload the android app on the play store. It is very easy if you have a android phone. Just look for a app on the playstore called Apps2Fire, the app even has instructions. Will take less than 5 min and it is totally legal.
If you do not have a android phone there are other methods, you will just need to google it a bit.

Thanks will do so.
Please also try an assist. I get an error message " this video is currently not available try again later" plus Network_Error when I try and watch Amazon Prime content. I have checked the Wi-Fi connection all good, I can watch Netflix via the Fire TV no problem. Was able to watch The Grand Tour on Monday, last night I could not. Any advice please?

I have read that this normally has something to do with your home country setting. YOu will need to make sure your amazon account is set to South Africa. Otherwise you can also contact Amazon support and they should be able to fix this.
