I stream most of my TV from overseas sites like Netflix, Hulu and iPlayer on my PS3, I saw the Amazon prime app and decided to check that out as it looks like it has a lot of nice content and I have an Amazon account for my kindle Already.

So I signed up for the one moth trial (like most other services) and played around with it. Its quite good, lots off good content, lots of HD and you can get all the brand new movies and series for an extra fee... seems to stream pretty well so I was happy with it and deciding to either drop Hulu or Netflix depending on what suits me best.... but then

I get the sms for R890 that has been deducted from my account !

My one month expired and they charged me for an entire year without warning, Fek. This is before pay day and the month where I had some huge purchases that pushed my CC to the limit and put me in to overdraft :/

Amazon is so convenient but just be careful where you click... and how much its going to cost you !

Sorry to hear. However, it does say "After your free trial, Amazon Prime is just $79/year" right next to the Start your 30-day free trial button :P

Ye... should have read :/

Everything else charges you month by month. Then you have the option to take a year or 3 months

Easy to make the mistake...but ya, it is pretty much your fault:D

I hope you like it atleast.

I do like it, I think if I had to choose I would take it over any of the other services.

I think I just decided to cancel hulu. The adverts are really irritating and between Netflix and Amazon I have everything covered.

Thanks for the tip Nerfherder.
I started a 1 month amazon prime trial yesterday.
Im not sure i like it.
I find the interface ugly, and no hovering over to check a detailed description of the titles, along with the lack of video preview when you load the movie a little primitive.
Content is decent though, but i hate that certain titles require pay to play despite prime membership.
Perhaps i will just use my friends and families emails for a few free months before i commit to pay a full year.
Im sorry that happened to you.
