AMD drops desktop processor prices by 47%

Just got one of the main LOCAL AMD importer's new pricing, hot off the press...looking good. 4200+ is 47% cheaper, like they said. Thats more than a R1000 drop.

Just downloaded my pricelist, and the price drops are just amazing

the prices are now in line with processor performance...see the left side of the graph how the lower end cpu's follow the same curve..

supersun, do you do swaps? Like if someone brings a 3200+ 939 and they want a 3800/4200+ X2 they give you their old one and pay the difference?

feo, sorry, finances dont allow for that and what would I do with a used processor anyway, can't ethically sell it as new.

AMD may have dropped prices on their chips, but I think their sales are not going to do the same.

By cutting their margins, the increase in turnover will balance the one against the other.
The AMD chips are a very good buy at these prices.
