AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution

DLSS 2 is clearly far superior, but this is version 1. Can it reach DLSS levels? who knows.
Not sure what video I watched, but they showed Unreal Engine 4's Temporal upscaling and it looked better than FSR, so there improvements that can be made. Then there is also UE5's TSR, but when will we see UE5 games? 2 years maybe.

For me personally, if I was going to buy a GPU today, it would be Nvidia for DLSS 2.0.
I guess a lot of this depends on the RDNA 3 uplift and RTX 4000 series comparisons - if RDNA 3 is faster than Nvidia then I guess we have more choices/decisions to make, which is a good thing

I hope this tech moves forward successfully. DLSS is genuinely one of the biggest breakthroughs in gaming hardware I've ever come across, to be honest.

Just downloaded the RTX version of Metro Exodus, and with DLSS @ quality with max setting on everything, and without DLSS it is utterly unplayable, and with, like butter. Beautiful butter. Also interesting seeing the improvement between version 1 in the game (which was not great), and this version which is ****ing miraculous.

Far superior, depending on your usecase.
4K, not so far superior, if at all in some games.
1080p - difference is night and day.

FSR can be implemented in 2 hours though, whereas DLSS2.0 needs to train a neural network to upscale images for your game.

But yea, I would also buy nVidia at this moment. DLSS2.0 AND FSR vs just FSR on the AMD stuff.

There was an interesting question on Hardware Unboxed's Q&A. It went along the lines whether FSR can be used and then allow DLSS, or tensor cores, to do its things, they did ask AMD about it and AMD didn't answer the question, but it is an interesting case nonetheless.

DLSS 2.2 is around the corner, and Nvidia is hyping it as the next best thing since Ryzen 3.
