AMD Gigabyte

E.g. Price, Features, Stability (which Gigabytes very good at) and Warranty?...

Price: Gigabyte = rip-off (probably because Rectron are the sole distributors). Features: Asus has more such as onboard on/off buttons, clear CMOS buttons, OCing modules etc. Stability: I don't see any stability problems here with Asus boards (and I believe Asus has most of the market share of MyBb).

Personally, I've been an AMD Fan for ages, but since Intel's release of Core i7, AMD has kinda let me down. (I'm upgrading to Core i7 in December)

Did you miss Intel's release of Core2 Duo which also blew AMD out the water? :p

Aesthetically, I think the Gigabyte looks better...

Prefer Asus myself. Gigabyte like mixing strange bright colours...

Price-wise, If you compare the Ex-58-EXTREME (~US$300) with the Asus Flagship P6T7 SuperComputer (~US$400)... it's more affordable.

That's not a fair comparison, lol.

In the end, it actually boils down to user-preference.

As well as getting best bang for your buck. Which is not the case with most Gigabyte products in SA.

i run Asus on my i7 (p6t deluxe v2) and my Athlon64 X2 5200 (M3N78-VM). No issues with them.

The ease of OC'ing my i7 blew me away.

EDIT: and if you visit overclocker sites, you'll see plenty people of recommend Asus. And those guys typically know what they are talking about.

Yes, all those massive overclocks are incredible. Especially if you have a pot of liquid nitrogen around.

Silverlight - The point I was getting at is that if you read reviews from various places about boards, you will find that Asus v Gigabyte comes down to say whether you prefer BMW over Mercs. You may be a fanboy of one, but when it really comes down to it the choice between the two is neither here nor there. We are not talking BMW/Merc over a Citi Golf.
