Why? I bought a GTX 460 in 2010. The GTX 460 support DX12, Radeon HD 5870 amd Radeon HD 6770 only support DX 11. I try to buy the best bang for buck, doesn't matter if its AMD or Nvidia. My GTX 970 still runs most game smoothly, no need to jump ship.

AMD GPUs are outselling Nvidia

Why? I bought a GTX 460 in 2010. The GTX 460 support DX12, Radeon HD 5870 amd Radeon HD 6770 only support DX 11. I try to buy the best bang for buck, doesn't matter if its AMD or Nvidia. My GTX 970 still runs most game smoothly, no need to jump ship.
My problem is the opposite, AMD has no low-mid range cards, and no, R4k+ isn't mid range. It's now only the 580/590 and 5xxx. Vega was a disappointment and their budget 560 cards are already phased out with the 580 being as well.
That 460 probably runs slower than the Radeon HD does in its DX11 mode. AMD cards generally have a longer lifespan with Nvidia showing their age more rapidly. Doesn't help to have the new features when you can't make use of them.

Seeing that AMD provides better value in the mid-tier to the 99%, why is the margin so small?
