my 8800gtx in my old computer still runs pretty much every game fine (without scalling **** down) on a resolution 1680x1050 and thats a damn old card aswell. Maybe its all got to do with the " Nvidia the way its meant to be played" label on most games, heck I dont know.
Nah, nVidia just pay the game companies for them to add their little video there - you're basically watching a little nVidia advert every time you wanna play a game....they have a good brand and awesome marketing, i must say - that's why people look up to them.
they have good cards, i can't lie - but when it comes down to "what's the best card for X amount of money", ATI wins usually.
I was an nVidia fanboi as well - had many, many cards of theirs.....thing is, it took only ONE ati card to convert me...
I honestly don't see why they have bad drivers....
if you're saying they are not optimized like nVidia, well then, thats pretty friggen strange considering the speed of ATi's VS nVidia Cards on SAME COST GFX Cards.
But have my preferences and will rather fork out more and buy my Nvidia/Intel system purely because its what I know.
Just a question... those of you saying ATI have bad drivers, have you ever owned an ATI graphics card?
I've had 2 ATI cards at home (old and new) and a highend nVidia card at work for CUDA programming. None of them give me any problems. They just work.
For "bang for buck" I'll always go for the best deal at the time that I buy, brand loyalty in this situation is a little bit silly, but hey if you've got the money to burn then who are we to stand in your way.
Peace.
omw, typical typical, i knew this would turn into a red vs green thread.
i've had and owned both and didnt have any driver issues with either.
