now heres the question : How do i unlock it to a quad Core in the bios?

should i mess around with the BIOS CPU voltages or what?

I Have Flashed THE BIOS. to a flash drive.

WHEN i do change a setting the monitor goes blank etc and then i have to press a button (clr CMOS)

:-)

There should be an option in your BIOS to enable core unlocking. The BIOS will unlock the available cores (usually without any other intervention by you) and if you're lucky you'll POST with a "Phenom II X4".

If you have tried to enable it and the PC wouldn't POST it could mean that your CPU isn't capable of having the other two cores unlocked.

Your CPU seems to be a "Callisto" with two of it's cores disabled. If you can't enable the other two it could very well mean that those two (or one) cores are damaged.

Remember that core unlocking isn't guaranteed. It's a luck of the draw.

If by chance you do manage to unlock it I would stability test it.

waha some dude sold me his 555be x2 for a few hundred bucks two years ago, i can successfully clock all 4 cores even though it failed for him :D

depends on the motherboard you are running ? usually its under the "ACC" "unlock cores manually " option ?

also you might need to lower the cpu voltages for it to be stable.

Look for Advanced.. core.. calibration or something like that. ACC. Enable it.

My friend got an x2 545 and core unlocked to a quad...then went to 3.9ghz stable.

It is very possible that you will have to jack up the voltage 0.05V or more to get it running stably on all four cores.
Good luck, and keep an eye on temps if you were successful at unlocking(hwmonitor).

Dude the cores arent damaged but um should i update the BIOS because the BIOS is from 2005 and i think it should be version year 2008 [latest]

thanks for a friendly reply.

my cores can be unlocked. go to msi.com and search msi dka790gx platinum motherboard.

:-) cheers

Lucky !!
I can unlock my HTPC, but in doing so the temps just go through the roof. Anyhow it's not my main PC so I don't need more than 2 cores, I was just fooling around to see if it really works (and it does) :D.

At the end of the day I guess luck has it whether you get a fully unlockable CPU or not.

I suggest you stop swinging your keyboard around Tarzan...

What they often do is make quadcores, then some time either one, or two of the cores are damaged at the factory during manufacturing, so they then sell it as a dual core...

So you might be very unlucky, and just unable to unlock those cores. If you want quad core, then buy one...

Please don't be rude and leave caps lock on.

Ok, I Have Got The Motherboard Serial Number :D

This is The Serial Number : 601-7550-020B0810241211 (December 2009)

Since the Dual Core is GONE !!!!!

I Jus Thought that i might provide The Serial Key !!!!! and someone can wake up

the person who bought this motherboard can login into their Account & kindly hand me the BIOS Version [LATEST]

Damn sick of using the universal version :(

Dont WORRY The PC is Registered & Working 100%

I am going to Install The BIOS Update once i get hold of Customer Service by Personal login page
