The last two weeks have been great with this card. Had major problems sometimes, but all is sorted now. Really great performance and is superior to 8800GTS 640MB in almost all ways.
Image quality is superb and I like that my 3DM05 score is nearly 22K now with a stock card ;) Great work from ATI and it should get better with newer drivers...

can i ask why your using 3dmark05 and not 06?

cant u give us scores with 06?

how about aquamark?

so basically this means ati's new card will be out soon

how about some photo's of the card and box and maybe a screenie of the core and mem

or how about a picture of you holding the card?

Hey I dont' have to prove anything to you. Those that know me know I've had the card for at least 2 weeks now.
I didn't run 06 because in 06 it isn't as strong as GTX.

Also Aquamark is CPU bound and has been since about 2005 actually, please catch up with the times. The card would give me around 206K in AM3 while the GTS/GTX would give 207K so it's a much of a much...

Now do you have anything to ask about the card or are you just here pushing your stupid vendetta at having been shown to be clueless when it comes to hardware?

Hand bags at dawn gentlemen. I'll referee;)

Anything else you can tell us? How big is the card? Would it fit in a shuttle?

Yeah the card is about the size of an 8800GTS, just slightly longer though.
I don't know what retail price is going to be this side but I do know R4,000 woudl be a rip-off :/

Lovely little card this. You shoudl see Call Of Juarez DX10. Fantastic will try capture pics soon and post them up ;)

Were you using it in Vista or XP? 32 or 64 bit? Performance across XP snd Vista?

BTW. Are ATIs drivers as buggy as Nvidia with Vista?

Well NVIDIA 158.42 is actually great with no bugs that I have come across and ATI's drivers are good as well. A few driver issues here and there in certain games but by and large good drivers.
There's really not much point in testing under XP as these are DX10 cards...

Here's a pic of Call Of Juarez DX10 benchmark

i think aquamark is awesome

fast test that shows both vga and cpu performance, im pretty sure its a good sign all i wanted shock was some aquamark readings, not to hard takes like 1 minute and you could have shown me the vga score so i could compare, funny how you always get defensive when asked questions

if i had the card i would post pics of myself holding because i would be one of the first ppl in the world to own one

explain to me again why 3dmark06 is not a good benchmark? you know how clueless i am

going to download 3dmark05 so i can compare because you dont want to give 3dmark06 or aquamark when your cleary have them

does 3dmark05 use dx10 technology, if not why not test it on xp?

so you didnt run the installation on xp?

uhmmm, with so many reviews out already, i'm sure that shockg got one of the early releases or something. there are cards out there, its not like it doesnt exists.

prophecy will be selling these babies at about R4099 from 21st of May. and yes, it is a lot of money, and yes, i really really want to get me one.

R4,099! Better than the Take2 price for sure, but still a little too much for my liking... :/ R3,600 would have been a little better at least we'd only be paying R800 more than retail U$..

Either way Aquamark3 GFX and CPU score are not exclusive to each other. The CPU can either drive the GPU score up or down and so can the GPU drive the CPU score up or down. It's primarily a DX8.1 benchmark with DX9 extensions. There is very little PS2.0 processing going on and it's mostly VS/PS 1.0/1.3. It behaves much like 3DMark01 in this way and that's why it's not ideal for testing gfx cards anymore.

eg of shader instructions in this benchmark

mad r0 , t2 , v1.wwww , r0

dcl_texcoord0 v3
dcl_texcoord1 v4

mul r1.xyz , r0.wwww , v1
mad r2.xyz , r1 , c8.xxxx , r0
m3x3 oT2.xyz , r2 , c10
(VS430)

These were dumped randomly from shader instruction out as you can see they are really simple fragment programs and the vertex program is far more elaborate but still of DX8.0 complexity :/

shock you said we shouldnt test on windows xp because the cards are dx10

Is 3dmark05 dx 10? you know how clueless i am, running 3dmark05 on vista because the card is dx 10 damn i would have run it xp rather, shows how clueless i am

did you run your tests on windows xp or vista?

also check this out http://www.gpureview.com/

the first story on the page

i really dont see the harm in running 3dmark06 or aquamark and giving us the scores, i mean you tell us about this card you have and post one benchmark, who cares if the other are crappy i for one would love to see aquamark and 3dmark 06

killadoob what is the matter here?
DX9Ex can better take advantage of a unified core than DX9.0c.
Also that pic if you look is under WinXP not Vista.

Look above at Aquamark and you'll see it's not and never was an ideal GPU benchmark as it's CPU bound entirely. It doesn't scale well with gfx card power let alone SLI. If anythign SLI lowers the score, much like it does for 3DMark01 in GT1~3, only in GT4 which is mostly GPU bound does it help...

AM3 score was 187K

sweet 187k aint very good considering the specs
could you perhaps break down the cpu and gpu score :)
how about a 3dmark06 score
