I know this Question has been asked tons of times before but what do you think is better
amd phenom quad core
or
Intel core2duo i am generaly a intel fan, but i wana see some other peoples opinion

Thanks

phenom quadcore has nothing on intel quadcore.

The q6600 is so cheap now it would be silly to be buy a dual core intel cpu.

Depends how cheap is cheap.

While the Core2duos are great it doesn't make the phenomes bad, just good.

If I had to buy a cpu today it would be the phenome 9850.

Using take2 pricing:
AMD Phenom Quad-Core 9850 Black Edition CPU Price: R 2,237
Intel Core 2 Quadro Q6600 CPU Price: R 2,287

There's no point in getting Dual Core at all as you can get a tri core phenome very cheaply.
AMD Phenom Tri-Core 8450 CPU Price: R 1,171

They actually tested the 9850 against the Q6600. The Q6600 beats it with room to spare (I'm only quoting the reviews). So I'd still go for the Intel cpu....

HA HA Q6600 it is then, but i heard somewhere that they are releasing 6 core processors soon. Is that true if so shouldnt i wait for those to come out and drop the prices of other processors:confused:

Apparently it is being released overseas next month. Problem is, you remember what the Quad Core cost when it was initially released?

6 core processors are only for server chips. Windows barely handles 4 cores at the moment, getting 6 is pointless for a home machine.

Well you've mentioned Windows in the sentence.... Linux performs awesome on a Core 2 Duo, mind staggering on a Core 2 Quad.... On the "Core 2 Hex" it will blow your mind....

No:eek: I dont want to buy a 6 core processor but when it gets released wont the prices of other processors drop ? I think i have kinda made up my mind on the q6600

The Q6600 is awesome. It should go down quite a lot when the 6-core gets released.

You render? 2x2px does not count ;)

I don't think it's much of a reason not to buy now. The price was recently cut and it can't get that much lower.

You get it as cheap as R1750 from PCInt, or around R1800+ at other places.
