AMD vs Intel

No for sure shark :). Glad the AMD supporters are around because when AMD take the performance crown away from intel the intel boys will buy amd :), we have brains :p

I like what's been said by some on this thread:

Don't buy the brand. Buy the product.

Buy whatever is best at any given moment. If it's Intel, buy Intel. If it's AMD, buy AMD.

At the moment, Intel is the best. A few years back, AMD was. I bought appropriately.

Same here, was AMD but now I'm intel and happy with both my choices. Maybe roux bought an AMD then discovered afterward that an Intel will kick it's @ss at the same price so he consoles himself with the brand history.

Even though the Phenoms have been out-performed by the Quad cores, the Phenoms are cheaper. So if you wanted 4 cores and you were on a budget then you bought a phenom. The motherboards are cheaper, as are the chips and the ATI cards you run with the boards.

That is why I went AMD. If money were no object I would've gone for Intel as those Quad cores really kick ass. I just believe in buying the best machine you can for your money.

EDIT:

I don't agree with that. AMDs are quite a bit cheaper. I do agree that they don't perform like the Quad cores do though.

The cpu's are not cheaper, the 9950be sets you back a cool 2.5k same as the q9300 or q6600. Amd used to be cheaper but that is a thing of the past.

Fighting on the internet is like the special Olympics. It doesn't matter whether you win or lose, you're still retarded

I will buy what I think is best. I am currently on an 1.6Ghz Celeron Dualie, I got it from take 2 for R500 and it works like an charm, when overclocked.

Must be imported from China
China Computers also work good!
They can Sell Vista for a dollar, what they can't do?

There is no fighting there is arguing, if people don't like it they have the option of not posting :p

Just a thought.

So what will you say If I say you are so wrong, You have to stick to a brand no matter what. I never used AMD since the original problems years ago and therefore lost out badly when they were tops before the C2's. Now running a Q9550 from CZ. So my favoritism paid off not? :D

LOL yes it has but take myself, i only owned the good amd's until core 2 now i got a q9550 as well, so has my buy the best product not paid off better :p

Yeah, My hardass conviction won me no favors. What MB do you run the Q9550 with?

I have my old AMD still running 3 years later and it's being used as an HTPC, great value for money.
