Analysis: US now winning Iraq war

The US won the war less than 2 weeks after it was started. What has happened since is in no way a war.

Agreed.

The Iraq War started in March of 2003. That is more than 5 years on for a War that was won in less than 2 weeks and the US forces are still in occupation.
I wouldn't be surprised if US Forces will still be in Iraq in another 5 years time.
This time period may depend on the next US Presidency?

More to the point. The Iraq "War" was always meant to be sustained.

Wait Wait Wait......
THERE WAS A WAR!!!! HAHAHA! This is so Laughable!
Iraq barely put up a fight, America wins the award for the most cowardly way of fighting. They never won vietnam now they still trying to make up for it.

Turpentine is not for drinking.

USA needs to find them WMD they been talking about. Then I'd call it a win...
There are no winners when it comes to war...

Well cept for the arms companies and those companies cashing in on the food for oil program...

I watched a video a little while back, I think it was on YouTube where the Bush administration admits to lying and using WMD's a pretext for war and they had strong evidence which cast serious doubt that Iraq even had WMDs but went in anyways...

HA HA HA
So using your advanced military technology is cowardly.

I guess you think those homicide bombers (Bali, London Underground, Madrid train, ......) are brave hero's - they are sick brainwashed barbaric cowards.

I see you have a few sock puppets.

If their goal was to kill as many civilians as possible than they outdid themselve this time.

I think the terrorists are currently winning this race...

Almost everyday there is a car or suicide bomb blast in Iraq targetting civilians, goverment, police etc

I don't mean to pedantic here, but even if the USA is "winning" this war, surely the military contractors deserve some of the credit? BlackWater needs love too - even if they do kill unarmed civilians.

@ Frankie - I think Achmat does have a point. Firing "smart-bombs" into wedding parties is not exactly brave, IMHO it is cowardly. You could have sent in your marines and arrested / killed the bad guys. The reason you didn't is because you did not want your troops killed - hence the cowardly part.

But hey, who wants to get their own troops killed? Besides who really cares when Iraqis die - it's not like the US is counting right?

Yes all 150 000 of them are parked up at 20 000 feet 'firing' smart bombs. The insurgents sure are industrious to get at them at that height ROFL

alanf, why do you root for the war so much? Have you got Lockheed Martin shares?

How exactly am I 'rooting' for war . Perhaps it's best you make your decisions based on facts instead of preemptive assertions of being 'pro war' or 'anti war'. Being anti a war on the sole basis that you're 'anti war' is ludicrous

That same advanced military technology has killed more innocent people than guilty people. So don't be ignorant and call it "technology". How the hell can yo fly over a country and just throw white phosphorous, that burns people on contact, on an unsuspecting population. Sure that is not barbaric! If you fight face your enemy.

Why is it you can never focus on what's being discussed? You always go to extremes to justify something, I remember your scary line of thinking on the prozzie thread.

You got ADD or something? :o

alanf85 you probably supported the assassination of JFK. JFK's policy when it came to Vietnam and Cuba didn't go down well with his colleagues.
I respect a leader of this caliber who was willing to withdraw from Vietnam and admit it was mistake as well as to try and foster peace with Cuba.
The world needs more good people unlike the war mongers for leaders we have these days.

Saddam was a dictator that murdered thousands of people, dont get me wrong.

The bottom line is that George Bush lied to the world about Iraq's WMD. His attack on Iraq was based on this lie. In my opinion he is a big a terrorist as any.

I don't think there will ever be a winner in this pointless war once again America got involved in some thing that they should not have!!!

Well you said they're cowards dropping bombs on wedding parties. I'm just wondering how they keep 150 000 of them up there in the first place:o

Oh wait they seem to have left a few on the ground. As you can see they're cowing behind woman and children using them as human shields

No, I said some of their actions are cowardly (but understandable). For the record, I consider US troops to be brave. But what's the point - all this goes over your head anyway. :o

I've got a highly effective BS filter. All crap goes right over my head lol
