ANC actions in coming months

The Western Cape is but a stepping stone to other provinces. Especially the Northern Cape and Gauteng. With the WC under its belt, your city is the next target Morgoth. Please try to understand the big picture that Rome couldn't be built in a day; and wait five years before you see what can and will happen.

Once it has been proven that the average lifestyle is so much better in the Western Cape we should see a general decline of ANC supporters in many other provinces (unless the ANC pulls itself together and does a half-decent job, which also wouldn't be a bad thing).

Show the electorate (and yes, unfortunately historically the Western Cape is the starting block) that there are other parties out there that are working for the betterment of all South Africans; you too can have an improved lifestyle with the right people in charge and gain the support in Gauteng, followed by other provinces.

We honestly need a more federal system with the Provinces having greater autonomy for their own people. The central government's power should be restricted and Provinces allowed to make their own laws for the people that they put in power instead of kowtowing to the choices made by other voters in other provinces.

The DA is to idealistic, every election it got what 15%? 14%? 12%? Rome sure as hell wasn't build in one day but at the rate the DA is going it will take twice my lifetime to get where they want to be.

If the day wants to win a election they should target the cheap laborers, your R5 per day domestic worker, at the moment there is no representative party for them. I doubt they even tried to campaign in mamalodi/ soweto where there was a lot of unhappy ANC supporters who did not have a alternative. Sadly neither the DA or Cope even tried to campaign in those areas.

Yes, but now they have a province. That's a massive leap forward and a much better opportunity to showcase what they are capable of! Watch this space.

It would still work if the ANC wasn't as draconian as it is: either you tow the party line or you're fired. Give Premiers a chance to shine and work for their people instead of being puppets to Parliament and the Cabinet.

The Western Cape will decline as time goes on.

I have not been there in 20 years, but I am willing to bet a large sum of money that it has changed radically over the last several decades. I think I would be shocked to see how it looked now.

Africa will have her way with Cape Town. The DA may have their finger in the proverbial dyke right now but demographically the Western Cape is screwed. The best you can all hope for is a sub-par standard of living where SA will resemble countries like Mexico, Kenya, Nigeria et al.

There will be a few rich people and millions upon millions of desperate poor.

White people in SA are akin to Jewish people. Demographically, there would be no state of Israel if they had not built the walls and donw what they did, right or wrong.

If you are in your 40's and 50's now, you can look forward to a miserly pension of R100.00 per month from the government. Some future you have there!

Moving forward, the ANC will one day make sure that the DA is not a factor in the Western Cape. Good luck to all of you who remain there.

Me, I look forward to visiting SA and Cape Town for the occasional holiday. It will be cheap for sure. I just don't look forward to seeing all those millions of OLD white and black beggars that will be all over the place in the next 20-30 years.

Ok so the ANC are trying to pass or did pass some legislation that takes power and decision making away from Province, they are trying to centralize power to national gvt.
What does this mean for Western Cape?
If this happens basically the DA will be rendered useless.

Ofcourse the ANC deny this and deny they are trying to do this.

No, its not. Not when you take power away from democratically elected representatives. They were not elected for that municipal position, they have no right to govern. For better or worse the leaders we elected are directly responsible to those who voted them into power, and they're our representatives.
