ANC 'cracking up' - Zille

The ANC was "cracking up" as its members fought for positions of power, the Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille said on Saturday.

"The truth is the ANC has started cracking up and it will continue," she said in a speech prepared for delivery at the DA provincial congress in Bloemfontein.

"The only issue is the scramble for power to get the spoils of power and enrich yourself and your close political allies."

The ruling party was trapped in a "corruption gridlock."

She said the party was also divided between people who believed in a shared future and those who wanted conflict and racism.

She said ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema's singing of "dubul' ibhunu" (shoot the boer) and the racial tension that followed, were signs of a crisis in the country.

Zille said her party should use the "crisis" to build a new majority that could win elections from the ANC.

"We mustn't flop back into apathy the minute we think the crisis is over. In fact we can minimise crises by consistent hard work in between them," she said.

She described the ruling party as "racial nationalists who wanted to take the country to conflict and division."

Instead of addressing service delivery, the ANC played the "race card" to blame "its failures on the whites," she said "The ANC has already split once, and all the signs are that it will do so again in the not-too-distant future."

When this happened the DA would be there to offer a credible political home.

Through coalitions with other political parties the DA would extend its power base beyond the Western Cape, Zille said. - Sapa

you get the ruler you deserve.
a country only falls apart either because the people let it or they want it so.

It began when they ousted the defunct ex-president, Mr Thabo Mbeki.

It gained momentum in Polokwane.

It was sent the mineshaft in the general elections of 2009 :(

DA,ID, Cope and oh ja the AWB should merge..and create a Volkstaat for logical people of all races...and then leave Juliaaaaaaassss be so he can farm and scratch out a Dafur Zim2.0 for himself with his buddies

Where would you propose that should be situated?

IMHO the ANC could have been a successful ruling party but the moment Nelson Mandela stepped aside is the moment when the ANC visibly started falling apart by elevating its useless and corrupt and openly racist members into positions of power.

We need a black intellectual at the helm of the DA.

Who is/are "we"?

Appointing a darker skinned intellectual person as the leader of the DA might gain the DA a few more votes from like-minded darker skinned people, but what it will not do is gain the DA votes from the vast majority of darker skinned voters that are poor in the extreme and gullible or stupid enough to believe the ANC's lies (those same people that decide to continually vote the ANC back into power).

Every one knows that post 1994 South Africa calls itself a "democratic" country, but the ANC has very cleverly brainwashed voters into believing that democracy means a one party state with the ANC being that one party.

IMHO all opposition parties need to embark on massive voter deprogramming campaigns to teach voters the real meaning of democracy, which to me means the power to choose a different political party when the ruling party has completely lost the plot and refuses to deliver.

I also think that political parties need to point out to voters involved in violent service delivery protests that they are the cause of their own problems, they voted the ANC back into power after the ANC had already demonstrated that it was only interested in enriching its own elite members and could care less about the poor that kept handing the ANC the silver platters.

We need a white woman in charge of the ANC....

And I mean that only half jokingly. I have said for years that the DA needs a black man as leader, and the ANC a white woman. Then we will see the countries true colours.

I would prefer to see competent, unbiased people in charge, but I guess that's a pipe dream. The masses don't see it that way, hence the current state of the ANC leadership.

Where would you propose that should be situated?

Why no more mention of the Western Cape being separated from SA and basically becoming another country with it's own constitution, etc.?

I had a chat here with that guy and reminded him, as Helen Zille is now reminding the country, that we South Africans must not settle for less, but rather take the whole country.

DA and it's alliance partners have said that they are now taking more and more strongholds from the anc.

The anc is it's own worst enemy. ;)

Let's talk to all those around us, informing them of the greed, corruption, suffering, death, torture and destruction that the anc represents and make the anc suffer in elections.

Show people of other races the photos of the brutally tortured and murdered children and adults and old people.

Show them what kind of people the anc/sacp/cosatu are.

Show them how malema and the anc/sacp/cosatu plan to invade SA to steal their land and minerals.

We, the citizens of SA, elect civil servants to serve the nation, not corrupt, greedy, murderous, torturous, destructive rulers.

Get everyone you can, to vote, in each and every election from now on.

We, the citizens of SA, own this country, together.

Show dem! ;)
