Their registrar has never been digitised?

Look, I can see how the "smart" card can come in handy: swipe and go, unless there is an issue with the system.

It is good to have an authentication system in place, especially with instruments like OAuth that are enabled with smart cards. Basically, any person, without having any IT knowledge, could use such a system. This said, without having any other security mechanisms in place, somebody else could use any card. Checks are still necessitated.

I am curious, though, whether this "smart" system will have a social credit system?
Whatever system they had was clearly full of holes based on all the membership disputes that happened before conferences. Until around 2010 or so some kind soul was paying for my membership fees and every now and then a nice shiny card would be delivered, without me having to lift a finger.

No idea about the social credit system.

Just curious when Cyril touched on gatekeeping, and that the system would allow the ANC to attract the most capable and committed. That is a reward system.

Cadre system, regardless what mechanisms are implemented, will still be gatekeeping. It is how, basically, all clubs work.

The gatekeeping he us referring to is when people manipulate the membership so that their preferred people are the ones in good standing to enhance their chances.

So one can understand where he is coming from.

Does my TV license need to be up to date before I order one of these?
No, but you must have a criminal record, have been on an international terrorist watch list, have been taken off said list and is now considered for international sanctions due to affiliation with terrorists. So do you qualify or are you pre approved?

All you need to do to qualify is to steal a pie or throw some poo

I applied on 17th Jan, mine has the same status as yours. Pretty sure they said it would be ready in "6 weeks"...
Seems that my wife was lucky. She applied towards the end of January (23rd) and the Natis website indicated at the end of February (27th) that her card was available for collection. She only collected the card a few days later somewhere in the first week of March because we were away from home the last week of February.

Wow! That's not bad at all! Lucky her!

Agenda 2030, which both the ANC and DA love so much. 4 months in and I still haven't received my ID but these thieves have money to waste on this nonsense.
