ANC 'gripped by fear'

Good, a proper government should'nt be having this fear but TIA

The ANC should split to two parties, that should weaken them

the anc should dissolve in a glass of water, that'd make the country better..

Lets hope that he doesn't replace the scared away idiots with more different idiots.

Amen on that one. I personaly ( seeing we have no choice ) would like a Zulu in there as well...These Xhosas ( in the Govey )are in majority and basicly wants everything for themselves...Just think about all the clashes between Zulu and Xhosa...

Cant get much worse with the current DOC and MOC - and that's just one department. These government officials deserve to be living in fear simply because of the lackadaisical job they've been doing for way too long now.

A little offtopic but how do some of you guys view those 'new' Nats who crossed the floor to the ANC a few years ago, when the two parties merged?

there is always going to be national unity towards ANC , remember SA democracy is only 14 yrs old .

Sure, who's running the country again, the ANC government or the newly elected NEC?

they are seeing the way forward in politics . The truth be told most opposition parties do not have real policy behind them they are just there to shout in the newspapers . Going into the next elections the opposition has to see ways it can accomodate majority based policies , otherwise they will be steam-rolled .

No, they are seeing the "way forward" for themselves.
You don't own the market on truth, but you're welcome to your opinion regarding opposition policies or lack thereof.
What's majority-based? Is that newspeak for BEE? Does accountable and credible governance fit in there anywhere? I reckon they might be wanting some of that right now.

I think they're slimy bastards looking out for themselves at the expense of their supposed constituents - but come to think of it, that description applies to 99% of all politicians from all parties.

majority means the working-class and poor to me . They can be black, coloured, indian , white or chinese but at the end of the day they have to ask themselves why they are joining a political organisation . Every1 has a right to vote but politics is popularist game , if u do not say the right things to the right people u will end up with 20 seats in parliament.

I get what you're saying about marketing for a target audience, it's just that the product is poor.

You should check your sources before slagging off the opposition though.
Here is what I get for the 2004 election results for the official opposition party:
Parties Votes % Change Seats Change
DA 1,931,201 12.37 +2.81 50 +12
