ANC slams 'irresponsible' Eskom

Just when you think they cannot get any stupider, they do!!

It is like a freaking circus.

There is no hope for Africa - it is all downhill from here.

watch the Rand slide off statements like this, when the "news" filters to the overseas markets and people look and say "hmmm, and we need to put our money there?"

Definately a correlation there.
I noticed this phenomenon a while ago.

Each time a MP gives us a few words of wisdom the rand falls.

Eskom brought in the delay, I think, in order to catch up with providing for the current projects. Delaying things, will give them some time to do proper planning. Or, this is how I see it. Speeding up the process will cause just more power problems, or power problem quicker.

IHMO, there is much building going on in any case. A new complex across from me had been finished for almost a year now, and only 5 units sold. People don't have the buying power they once had.

 Its troubling, but its not THAT bleak yet.

You sound like the oke in Switzerland looking at the top of a mountain and saying "Ag, its just a little bit of snow sliding down, not a problem".

It is a serious problem - the initial stages are just gentle enough to delude some into thinking it is not insurmountable.

They're talking about the delay in getting Eskom's permission before building.
Now .. how on earth can shortening that delay be negative?

The fact that there is a delay is the problem.

Not a good time to be employed in the construction industry.

Aren't these the same guys who helped get us into the situation we're in in the first place?

Well maybe they've realised they backed the wrong horse. Hopefully we will see a round of resignations shortly when the ZumANC starts to take control.

Maybe now construction costs will come back down to earth.

The ANC is f'n NUTS!! They were the ppl not responding to Eskom's maintenance alert 10 years ago, now they make out as if they are the innocent...there goes the "blame" again

blessing in disguise.. at least there'll be demand for all those houses on the market ;)
