ANCYL trashes toilets

Only an ignorant bigot would make these sorts of comparisons.

Hard working is one issue, the bigger issue though is when you already know your colour generally destines you to achieve less.

You should have a chat to that JohnGalt fellow. He'll soon put you right about colour having nothing to do with your destiny.

If i decided to setup a house on the side of the street next to your house, would it be the government's responsibility to provide me with a toilet? I'm just one so they will probably kick me out, but lets say thousands of us decide to live in a park..... then it becomes more tricky because a larger portion of the population want toilets and perhaps they should be provided?

But at the end of the day we only have so much money and this amount of money could either produce 100 toilets or 10 toilets with walls, a decision was made with their input...... and now they change their minds?

You made your bed now sleep in it.

The new stadia have toilets.

thank you, but it is for you, not me.

you NEVER answered my questions posted to you, none of them.

you keep talking around about the "previous disadvantaged", so what is NOW? Take your "previous disadvantaged” up until the end of the world, your "future" will never be changed because of your "previous disadvantaged ". :D

It was not a law that said 'Blacks were not allowed to work' - Take a leaf from Mandela's book.. he worked hard, the 2nd in charge during the first heart transplant by Dr Chris Barnard was a black.

This is all tribal mindset - I vote for my leader, and my leader must GIVE ME what he promised. Its plain and simple... LAZYNESS.

The Simplest answer applies here... LAZY

It was a law that they would be educated to become maids, gardeners and manual labourers.

You forget that their race was (mis)educated to become anything but what Mandela and other wealthy, intelligent blacks became. It was an exclusive privilege during those times to be able to work hard to achieve more than becoming a maid, gardener or manual labourer. This privilege was only afforded to a minute few.

Transformation/reconciliation/AA/BEE/leveling the playing fields intends to undo this and afford the privilege and opportunity to more.

This morning I got to see what these "toilets" look like on eNews... And all I can say is EPIC FAIL on the DA's part. The "structures" they put up are makeshift & must get hot as hell on a mild summer's day (even in the WC). And then there are those that are just "toilets". If they intended for there to be covering they could at least have out the whole thing on a concrete slab. I mean even the ANC tenderpreuner know this basic rule. FAIL DA, FAIL!

No, I think DA has to supply every people living in the informal settlement a proper housing. the house, at least 200m^2, 1000m^2 garden with swimming pool. parking space. braai area. three bedrooms. Free DSTV, water and electricity. No rental, no rates and taxes. etc.....

Fail, big fail for DA......

:D :D :D

Agreed. I saw the toilets on E News yesterday. Disgusting how these bigots cannot comprehend that even though the blacks getting them are poor and disadvantaged, they too care about the quality and durability of their toilets. These Makaza residents were obviously not happy with the bare minimum they were given.

You say that, but they still vote for the ANC, even when they don't get what they were promised !

If you are threatned to be killed if you dont vote ANC .. then what do you do? :D

Even you would have to agree what the DA put up is beyond lame. Trying to divert from the poor decisions made on this project isn't going to take from the fact the DA failed (epically)!

Nonsense ! There were a number of universities for blacks, including Zululand, Western Cape, North, Fort Hare, etc. And Unisa.

Now I am not claiming that the school education was great (it's pretty bad even now), or that things were equal, but there certainly were opportunities for someone prepared to get out and work. Like Mandela !

That's true, especially when JZ tells them that the ANC will know who they vote for. And the people believe that.

But it does say a lot about the utterly corrupt mentality of the ANC !!!

In this case it would have better if they'd done nothing. I know the reasoning was there wasn't enough money to build complete structures. They should have instead built say a quarter of the structures and continued in the next budget period. Bad planning & project management all round.

As a side note I voted DA & am therefore well within my rights to criticise them for this epic fail.

I agree but it seems the DA intended to do more good as 95% of residents of the community agreed to walling the toilets themselves after the DA offered many, many more toilets which would service more families.

Whether or not they agreed out of satisfaction with the quality, or out of desperation, remains unknown.

One thing's for sure, when you see the quality of these toilets the Makaza residents were unhappy with, you begin to understand why residents would be p1ssed.

So can I therefore conclude that in your opinion everything ever will always be blamed on apartheid and that the concept of taking responsibility does not exist concurrently with the blame apartheid paradigm?

Yes I did. If I missed a few then it's probably because I couldn't understand you.

Now is the attending to the problems which Apartheid made worse. The carpets under which the National Govt swept blacks and other poor irritations are being lifted.

Again, comparing wanting a concrete toilet to wanting luxuries... Despicable.

Plato said he had met the youth league and community leaders recently and they had agreed to tell residents that open toilets would be enclosed. He also went from house to house to get residents' permission for the enclosures, Plato said.

"Ninety-nine percent agreed they want this. I asked them to put it in writing. Now the ANCYL is trying to give the impression there was no undertaking. The ANCYL don't respect the wishes of the broader community. They are not truthful," Plato said.

99% of the residents were happy with what was provided. It was that arrogant group of thugs from the ANCYL who reacted on the behalf of only 1% of the community. Is that what the ANCYL stand for? To represent 1% rather than the majority of 99%? That in itself shows that what they did was pure hooliganism and thuggery. It's sickening that this bunch of retarded stirrers are still seen by so many as the be all and end all representing todays youth.

Yes about 0.01% of the black population were afforded these opportunities where for 90% of whites it came expectedly.
