And another Tazz thread.....advise please

I also have a Tazz and nobody seems to know what is wrong with it...

It fires normally but in the morning when you start it, the car runs smoothly and gets up to speed with ease, but as soon as you drive roughly 200m the power “half’s” and it’s just a struggle to get it to 60kmph in 2nd gear.
Any help would be appreciated

What I know about motor mechanics is extremely dangerous

Would suggest maybe call 702 on Friday night after 19h00 and speak to the team about your woes. They are quite knowledgeable and seem to be giving most sage advice for problems called in with.

Sounds like a problem with the carburetor and/ or mechanical choke not closing properly.
any excessive fuel smells? excessive smoke from exhaust?

Yes to all the above but not excessive and it really heavy on fuel!

Get the carburetor overalled/serviced, maybe just something faulty with fuel jets or petrol air mix / butterfly. Also change air filter while your at it.

I have not travelled that far, so....I don't know! Why?

just check because if it does get better or back to normal chance is good you are loosing spark and the distributor might be the culprit also.
