ANC meeting turns violent
22/09/2008 21:19 - (SA)

Johannesburg - Three men were shot when an ANC meeting in Lusikisiki turned violent, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

Inspector Mlungisi Matidane said members threw stones at each other at the party's meeting at the Lusikisiki Training College at 10:00 on Sunday.

"While they were throwing stones at each other, gunshots were heard," said Matidane.

A 40-year-old man was shot in the head, and two others were shot and wounded in the legs.

"The 40-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition, while the other two were treated and discharged," said Matidane.

He said the meeting was postponed to Wednesday and would be monitored by the police.

Police were investigating a case of attempted murder, public violence and intimidation. No arrests have been made as yet.

They've been doing this for a while now IIRC.

If it were to happen we could just emigrate to Japan ;)

Viva ANC infighting. Geez, that something as simple as a meeting need to be monitored by police!

The tickets to the gravy train is all sold out and the fight to get on or stay on is going to start in earnest now. Baking a bigger cake for us all to share in seems to be far from the agenda. I just find it funny how these guys, whilst complaining about racism seems so hell bent on proving the racists right.
