However, I can not recommend season 2 at all unless you castrate yourself mentally first.

Andor looks visually stunning, probably the best to date. It has a much more serious tone than regular Star-wars though, more serious than that of Rogue One.
You could argue that this almost makes it non Star-wars in nature as some of the elements its missing is what makes Star-wars.
The episodes end abruptly without an episodic mini arc, so it is recommended that they be watched in one sitting, especially the first two.

Younger audiences will likely find the show boring.

That's a point in its favour in my opinion. All of these other Disney shows have been too Disneyfied.

Yeah I dislike the "Disneyfication", but this feels a bit more extreme in overcorrection.
OG star-wars is a blend of romance, humour, action and mysticism. At least in the episodes available it's only action and drama. For instance discussing the seating arrangement for a dinner party.
I have a feeling the are going more for the political intrigue. I'm guessing this will remain in future episode.
Also no Jedi or flashy lightsabers for those that require those things. This is probably why people say this is more for mature audiences.

The abrupt cut offs of the episodes remain a bit jarring. Seems like they had a longer episode that they just split into smaller segments. First 3 episodes are essentially one.
 
From the get go I liked the sound work & tone of it. Feels a bit like a Star Wars bladerunner vibe. Looking forward to the rest.
 
I love the look of it. It looks old, grimy and used. Immediately gave me Bladerunner vibes.

I think this show is going to be a lot more ''grown up'', which is what made Rogue One great and what Star Wars needs more of. And it will only get darker I feel when Saw Gerrera shows up. If we already got to see Cassian execute someone, I can only imagine where they take Gerrera as the man lives in the grey zone between being a resistance fighter and an outright terrorist.

The ambitious security guards got themselves in way over their heads. Should've listened to the Chief. No doubt the Empire shows up now.

I felt the same about Stargate Universe: Absolutely didn't fit the tone of SG1 or Atlantis but if I set that aside it was something I enjoyed. In the end I'd rather have a cool series to watch even if the cost is a sharp deviation from the tone of what came before. So long as it's interesting and the storytelling is good I'm happy for these universes to abandon consistency sometimes.

Most comics started their life as very slapstick sort of things and have evolved into a medium much more diverse. There's Superman comics that span the range from strange and mystical to brutal to funny and maybe it's ok if this evolution also happens to some of the movies and series we enjoy.

they need to adapt with the times, right now the world has come out of a pandemic, wars going on, royalty dying of old age, and viewers surrounded everyday by screaming and shouting from the news.
 
The only thing I'm really struggling with is the Disney+ 720p quality. It's painful honestly. I may as well just pirate Disney content if the streaming looks as bad as this. Besides that, Andor is pretty awesome thus far.
 
I really enjoyed the first three episodes.
Dunno why everyone is so bored with everything lately.
We're bored with Andor.
We're bored with Rings of Power.

People don't know how to watch TV anymore
Go watch some fireworks.

Just finished watching the first three episodes and I really like it so far :)
 
I'm a little bit confused by that crashed ship in the flashbacks. They keep referring to it as a Republic ship and the that Andor's people killed a Republic officer, etc. But all the crew were wearing Separatist patches on their uniforms :unsure: Still enjoying the series though.
 
Another solid episode with tons of Easter Eggs and some cool Star Wars EU content being made part of official canon.

Spotted Starkiller's armour in the background and the Rakatans were mentioned.
 
Seen on Reddit: the starport on Coruscant was filmed at McLaren's (the F1 team) Technology Centre.
