Hi all,

I have a Mobicel phone with Android 7. Recently when the phone comes out from standby mode it freezes with all these large black and white pixels on it.

Like garbage on the screen. I have to remove the battery to fix it. Happens randomly but only when coming out of sleep mode.

Barely any apps on it, and the apps that are on have been on for ages. Working all the time. Just recently it starting with this crap.

Any advice? Is it possible that some apps have become corrupt?

If some apps have been for ages, then I suspect a battery dying. Waking up it is a moment where all components start to draw power simultaneously, so power draw is bigger than average, voltage drops below limit and that shows up.

Do you get the same when on the charger?

Could be hardware on its way out. I'd give a factory reset a go. If that doesn't work, try a new battery.

Hasn't happened once yet while phone is charging. Only on non-charge.

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Maybe some internal damages, how frequent does the phone fall or receive extreme stresses?
Bought the phone in Dec 2017

Fell twice but fell "softly". Was getting out the car and fell out my pocket, but has a protective cover on and really it fell gently if I can put it that way.

However... about a month ago, while I was still using my phone as a modem with that naai Telkom, I kinda bashed my fist on it because I was lagging. Cracked the screen protector, but phone was fine.

Maybe I donner'ed the thing stukkend :/
