Android App requests / Looking for an app that does X - thread

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely investigate that route if need be. Fortunately I found a service called SpamDrain that filters spam right on the mail server. So the spam never sees any mail client. It's not free, but I'm happy to pay little more than a dollar a month for it. I'm currently using the trial and it seems to be working perfectly. No more spam on my phone, and the list of blocked emails in the SpamDrain interface is already massive.

I just wish I knew which website gave my email address to spammers.

Nice find, hope that works out well for you. Finding the site that gave out your email is always a pain, that's one of my favourite gmail features.
GMail has a feature, at least with its own addresses, never tried with my other linked ones, anyway. Basically you have an effective infinite number of email address aliases at your disposal, if like many your mail address is something like nam, surname, name-surname or name_suraname, possibly other. namesurname is a default alias, so the sender can forget your separator punctuation, also there is a '+' suffix, so [email protected] will also make its way to you.

I personally use that whenever I need to give addresses to a slightly suspect site or any insurance company, hippo.co.za and all those places, so mine would be [email protected], so if ever I begin getting spam, I know exactly who to start swearing at just by the mail address used.

That is awesome, and something I had no idea about. I will definitely try make use of that in the future.

Fark me gently but that is a fantastic tip, thanks for that.

(btw your last example has a . instead of a + so I tried both, the plus sign works but the dot bounced :) )

Hi

My Sony Xperia C has been tweaked to have a 2GB /data partition, but now things are starting to fill up and I have 200MB free and apps won't update "insufficient disk space".

I'm using the free Link2SD app to see what is consuming all the space and when I add them up, I get to about 1GB and not 1.8GB - is there an app that can actually show me the file usage on /data so I can decipher what is going on?

I am already using Link2SD with a simlink to SD so I am only talking about the "Data" portion of the apps that are on /data - the rest is on SD. Likewise, I am considering spending R24 to buy Link2SD and move the "Data" portion to the SD too but before I go there I want to first see what is on /data to figure out if I can't just delete some latent files or something.

Is there an app that shows the file usage on /data

If you're rooted, most file managers will show you what's in /data.

Hi all,

I've finally been given a work e-mail address and it's obviously going via Exchange (OWA) but I don't have a PC to setup it up on (by choice) and want to set it up on my phone.
I tried to set it up with a MS application and it worked, but I had to enable HIGH SECURITY on my phone which is a pain because the only password it accepts is this long ass typed password.

The program that works but is a pain is this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.outlook
There is another program, but I can't seem to get it to work (with the same settings): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.exchange.mowa

Boxer allows you to add a Gmail account but as soon as you want to add a Exchange, it costs $9.99.

Any other suggestions?

maybe try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=developer2205.outlook&hl=en

facebook camera roll

Is there anything that would allow me to use a normal gallery view to upload pics to another fb page without having to use the stupid camera roll? It's so disorganized and with thousands of pics its a nightmare.

Take a screenshot by voice?

Rooted?

Then use Tasker and AutoVoice.

Something like this command in shell:

/system/bin/screencap -p /sdcard/Pictures/%DATE%TIME.png
