I see Android is also coming to the bigger screens (of Laptops, netbooks etc) -'
anything known on that?

Ok, this is not quite a "where to get apps", but rather a view of what is available in the market:

http://www.cyrket.com/

In essence, this website is a client for Google's Android Market. It should be just as up-to-date as if you were using the native client on your real device.

Once you have an app you like, you may have luck plugging it into Google.

Just spoke to Leaf and they already have the Android Market and are currently testing it. We should get it pretty soon. They'll post the update on leaf.co.za

I have a question about Android apps so hopefully this is the correct place:

I have installed Handcent SMS and set it to be my default app for reading sms's in. However, when I receive a sms it defaults to Handcent, but I still get a notification from the default "Messaging" app that comes with Android.

Is there a way to disable the notifications from the "Messaging" app without uninstalling it?

You can disable notifications in the messaging app by pressing the menu button and selecting settings.

Hi all

Question, I have set up my contact to sync with one of my gmail contact groups. If I create a new contact in gmail and add it to the group it syncs to my phone with no problem.

However, if I create the contact on my phone, the next time it syncs with gmail the contact is removed from my phone. Does anybody know how to keep the contact and lets sync add it to my gmail contact group?

Edit: Ok, the contact does get uploaded to gmail but not added to my group and hence it is removed from my phone as the contact is not part of the group I want to sync.

As a South African can you sell application on the Android Market and how do you do it ? Anybody have an idea ?

Just tried FreshFace in the market. It's a home replacement app. I'm really enjoying it! You get up to 9 screens instead of the 3 in the default home, and some really nice skins. There are more skins in the market.
