Okay guys

I have a small problem, and im not familiar with Custom Roms, Flashing and Rooting.

I had my tablet flashed with a custom Rom, however the guy that did this, is no longer in the country. The problem that I have, is that when you boot up, it enters into a recovery screen. I can still get into the OS by cold booting, however, here is where the problem comes in.

When I plug in the USB cable, the PC says UNKNOWN DEVICE, and I cannot see the tablet. Im also unable to see the internal and external storage on the tablet, so im assuming that even if I put the files to reflash on an SD card, that I wont be able to get access.

Is there a way to get around this, as like I said, the PC doesn’t recognise the device, and im unable to get into APX or ADB mode, or something like that.

Remember, im a Noob at Flashing, Custom Roms etc, so just need some sort of advice.

Regards

First, post in the Android section, more views and help.

Second, too little info, what tablet and what ROM was installed (get this under Settings-> About Tablet).

if he made a backup before flashing, you should be able to restore previous state. if he flashed via recovery mode. i recovered my tab from a softbrick. i was giving fyn poepies i tell you but in the end with the right software it was simple. good luck.

If you do into recovery mode you can mount the SD card. Does the PC then see it?

If not then it could be hardware damage or a faulty cable?

Before flashing a fresh ROM you can also try to wipe dalvick cache, cache partition and factory reset from within recovery. If it still gives problems then you will in most likelyhood need to flash a fresh ROM. It is not that hard, if you ask the guys nicely in the Android forum they will in all likelyhood guid you along the way.
