Android Dash Cam Ap , power hungry ???

I have loaded CamOnRoad onto my Samsung S7 .
I love the ap , but my phone gets very hot. I have a power cord connected and it still reduces power available.
The power cord is connected to my Pioneer Car radio USB slot.
Has anybody found a good ap that's not so hungry ?

You are running your phone's camera constantly for lengthly periods of time and you are wondering why the battery drains and the phone gets hot?

An app won't stop the electronic from heating up. And is your screen running all the time when in this dashcam mode? Screen is normally the issue with battery drain, especially the brighter it is.
