I'm looking for an Android expert with particularly deep knowledge on rooting to help me with rooting my Samsung Galaxy Ace for a negotiable fee... I'm afraid I'll brick my device if I attempt it myself, but I'm also tired its lagginess. The help will be much appreciated

Check this out. I don't have an Ace, but this should help. Anybody charging you to root the phone is a con artist! No matter what you do to your phone, there isd always a chance of bricking even if it is someone you pay to do it. So rather read up a bit and do it yourself.

Download the software to root it here:
http://www.unlockroot.com/
Includes VERY easy to follow instructions including the ability to un-root the device.

Download and install ROM Manager from Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager

Flash Custom Recovery from the ROM Manager on the phone.

Reboot into Custom Recovery (using your phone's hard-reset function)

Backup your current phone ROM using ROM Manager, in case you don't like a custom ROM or would like to back to stock.

Find custom ROM's with details here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1164

I'd recommend this custom ROM for your phone as it specifically includes over-clocking capability and GPU API modules.:

KEEP IN MIND:
All custom ROM's do not have the ability to use USB tethering and some lack the ability to use the FM radio. Use Wi-Fi hotspot instead get tuneIN to listen to streaming radio.

I'll do it for R20k plus expenses (negotiable of course) :D

However, rooting will make absolutely zero difference to the speed of your phone whatsoever. (Probably should have kept that to myself until after I got paid...)

I stand corrected - there are guys who will do a proper job for a very good price.

I presume you want to put a new rom on the phone or upgrade to a higher version of android (to sort out the lag).

Rooting is the first thing - if you not comfortable with that, flashing roms etc, might also be challenging for you. Just a thought from my experience. I found rooting my HTC desire easy - after that I thought I bricked my phone twice while flashing a new rom.

I had to reflash the GF's Ace 5 times to get it working right after putting on a custom rom, seems there was an issue with the DL,wasn't a very good night for me :P

Lesson learned: Make a backup of current ROM

Once you root, thats the first thing you should do, and then immediatly also backup all you apps with Titanium (or other similar app) before attempting to flash a new rom.

You'd really rather pay someone than figure this out by yourself?

Hey, stop chasing my customers away  This is highly specialised knowledge, not something just anyone can do with a few clicks and a USB cable you know...

No respect these days ...

TJ99 has made a legit offer to help the man. You can also "help" when required, but for now, this is TJ99's win.

May I kindly disagree?

I think there are a lot of people who would rather pay a little something to get their phone's firmware updated to the latest version / get a custom ROM / just get root, with the help of an Android expert, and I don't think there should be anything wrong with it. PROVIDED the 'expert' provides you with all the necessary links/reading material and disclaimers.

Or...what? :)

Just offer the oke to come over for a boerie roll and some beers, I am sure there are decent enough chaps out there that would be happy to help.

Sure ... our views are different. The problem I have with anyone charging for any service is accountability. Say he pays to have a S3 rooted and lets say R250 is a resonable price. If he bricks the phone, what accountability does he have? None (unfortunately). Hence my suggestion to read up and then do it yourself. And besides ... the moment you root you open yourself to experimenting with roms and kernels, etc, and then you need to know what you are doing ... rooting is the easy first step.

There we go ... a sevice for free - no accountability ... just beer and boeries!! :D

If you load that rom on to the phone that you downloaded, then go to system update, and there should be an option to install the rom locally.

@msmoorad came right? I did a couple of Nexus devices years ago. The setup took longer than the actual process.
