Android Media Box

Is that the one that looks like an engorged flashdrive?
Looks like a nice unit, but might have some limitations due to its size?

There is one that looks like that, plugs directly into an HDMI port, but I have the box versions....

I have one of those mini wireless keyboards to control it, the remote that it comes with is a bit kark. Also I use Yatse on my smartphone (full version), which allows me to stream directly from my phone to the box while in Kodi.

Thank for the reply. And how is it performing? Does it play 4K movies fine?

I tried to stream some 4K content from youtube, but my internet connection was too slow. What did buffer was good. But I have never had any issues playing stuff off my server, had 4K files from a mavic pro drone, they played fine.

I don't want any issues with a machine that's having difficulties playing 4K movies or can only play a few certain files (formats).

I can tell you for certain I played a 1080p x265 10Bit movie the other day and it played 100%. Just cant say for certain about 4k because I dont have a 4k tv.

In fact my choice is actually Fire TV - but it requires some hacking to have it working 100%.

Thanks. I'm not streaming anything at the moment. So this is not my concern. I'm playing movies straight from an external hard drive onto my 4K tv. I have youtube 4k videos and also downloaded 4k movies. I just hoping buying a machine and its not going to have issues playing the 4K stuff.

It plays 4k. You just have to adjust the display setting, because the default setting is 1080p, if I recall correctly.

Okay, I'll check it out.

I do have the option just to play everything through the USB ports. But I have a small issue when playing through the USB ports. The dialogue sound is allot softer that the action scenes and its a pain in the backside. But when I use my Xtreamer media player through HDMI, the sound is fine, the dialogue part and action scenes are equal. I'm using a 5.1 surround sound system. Is there a big difference in the video quality between HDMI and USB function when watching movies? Because when I play an 4K video through the USB port, the quality of the video is something out of this world. The video quality is breath taking.
