Android P for P10... when?!

I don't get your point. I'm buying a Google powered device, and don't give a toss whether there's a conspiracy or not. Most people would tend to agree.
You are buying Huawei phone, but you are getting a Google device. A company profile is marketing, marketing and marketing. It is not a conspiracy that a marketing company is spying on you, most of people agree on this. It is all a Google FoolPlay Services is about...

I prefer buying a phone from the company who sells hardware with their own software like Apple. One vendor to trust, not two. It is why when Huawei release their new OS (sans Google FoolPlay Services), I will be the first customer.

You can't argue with my reasoning.

Google crossed a line, people start understanding where the problem is. You can't stop the process with such immature comments.

If you care about your privacy, buy an iPhone. Android is not for you.

And get banks apps, Netflix, etc. stop working, security issue for your employer.

I will rather wait for Huawei to release their own OS. They are not far from it, Google FoolPlay Services is a threat to anyone.

Broken apps are usually caused by a failed SafetyNet check. Almost all quality root apps can force the SafetyNet check to true. You shouldn't have issues.

The real point of this thread is to understand that you should void any expectation of timely updates, or even updates at all, if you're buying a Samsung, Huawei etc. Their firmware is heavily modified and takes them an age to update, despite Google making it easier than ever to do so with Project Treble.

My girlfriend's P10 got the android pie update sometimes this past week.
It's the C185 region from Telkom.

You must be aware that HiCare app looks specifically for EMUI update, not an Android system components. On Y6 2018 I missed two full OTA updates and HiCare app reports that system version is up to date.

BTW, Do you see "Smart diagnosis" icon in the app? I see in on the Oreo 8.0 Y6 2018 - app version 9.1.2.309, but not on Oreo 8.1 Y7 2019

You managed to buy a new phone? No iPhone 4? With Google play services and Chinese Spyware on it? Are you sure?

Not sure if it will help on the P10, however when my Mate 10 Pro got the update, settings showed no update, but when you enter the HiCare app, and tap system update it appeared there and updated.

Thanks but not interested in signing up to any further Chinese sniffing services than absolutely necessary.
Google is intrusive enough already.

I'll wait for the VC official release.

I understand, you can wait for an official firmware release on the OTA channel, it is your choice. It shouldn't take long. However you have no such choice in rejecting Google FoolPlay Services.

Still receiving OTA's like normal. Sometimes confirm the latest version available using Firmware Finder.
Also I do have the smart diagnosis section in the HiCare App.
