Android phone stolen/missing without tracking software? It's not too late!

Unless they factory reset your phone and don't put your Google account details back in. Then you might be a bit stuffed.

I know this is assuming...But would most of the guys who steal phones have the knowledge to factory reset it?

Yes but smart people generally don't steal ;)

Sure it's not 100% effective, but it's worth a try. Even if they do have some brain cells, you might have enough time before they can do the factory reset.

You might get it in before they reset, but it's a really long shot I think. Factory reset isn't really a complicated process after all, hehe.

Devils advocate: and then what? You now know the location of the thief, what are the chances of our police actually assisting?

The process varies from phone to phone so it may take them some time, and phones with tracking software are still pretty rare so they're not in a rush to do it. I've read about cases where thieves were caught with tracking software.
Thieves are generally stupid people, they only do what they've been taught.

It's worth a try. Besides, the phone might not even have been stolen, but accidentally hidden somewhere. Like in a friends car or something.
I always have Lookout running on my phone just in case.

Nice find.

Pun intended

Samsung too... but it doesn't work in SA. Hate this region limiting BS.
At least the main Lookout app works everywhere.

Hmmm... Sense works fine in SA. Guess that's one more to HTC. But yeah Lookout if you ain't got no other option - plus it seems to work better than HTCs alternative.

Mmmmm superglued SIM mmmmmmm.
(mmmmmm because I stick my lips together whenever I mess with superglue)

I must put lookout onto mine, since rooting and running stock excludes HTC's rubbish.
