Android screenshots appear in Google photos app

Every screenshot I take appear in the Google photos app. I googled it and moved the screenshot folder from the DCIM folder to the main /top /root folder but, my screenshots still clutter up my Google Photos.
Google search can't help so I hope someone on here in cyberspace can.
A second after I move the screenshot folder to the root folder it appears back in the DCIM folder.
Hardkoppig nogal.
Won't stay away.

The screenshot folder is in DCIM. Unless your phone manufacturer makes a change, it will stay this way. Each time you take a screenshot, it will be placed in there, which is then automatically backed up by Google Photos.

You can use one of those "automatic file mover" type apps to move your screenshots immediately once they are taken, but other than that, I haven't been able to find a nice solution to this.

my Xiaomi did the same thing ,plonks everything in the photos app ,annoying as hell ,but what i did notice was it doesnt take up extra space ,i just presumed its a link to the original .if i went into album it would be in screenshots as well.

If you're not able to change the screenshots folder to something outside DCIM, you're going to have to manage this.

this is why I root my Phone and install a custom ROM, all the weird quirks manufacturers install is gone.

You can't just move the folder, it will create a new folder there for screenshots.
