Best Android TV boxes in South Africa

Equipping your TV with an Android TV-powered media box or stick offers an affordable and easy way to access a growing collection of online video streaming services and other apps.

Most modern TVs now feature built-in "smart" capability running on their own operating systems — like Samsung's Tizen OS, Hisense's Vidaa U, or LG's webOS.

Best Lowest Spec Android TV boxes in South Africa
FTFY

Is 2GB RAM and 8GB Storage viable in 2023?

Seems vendors are in a competition for the lowest spec:
  • slowest Android TV boxes
  • least upgradable TV boxes (unable to install additional apps)
Sad

I could be mistaken here but the nvidia shield (oldest model 2015) is still receiving updates to this day, so that has been getting legendary support.

It was shocking for me to discover that android is already incredibly limited..... and with one of these what is supposed to be miniture PC's..... you actually have even more limitations.

I have a bit a of an issue regarding the Mi Stick and hope someone might be able to help. I recently got the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4K, configured it and works okay. It is attached to a Hisense tv and HDMI ports 1 and 2 are used for a decoder and XBox respectively. I have attached the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4K to HDMI port 3.

My problem is when the stick is active or on, and I change HDMI back one of the other HDMI ports (decoder or XBox) then it immediately goes back to HDMI 3 (Mi Stick).
If I switch the TV off and on then it defaults to HDMI 3. I either have to wait for the stick to go to sleep mode or pull the USB power from the stick to get to my other HDMI ports.
Anyone have any idea what the issue could be? Much appreciated.

Turn off the CEC settings on the Mi Stick, should be under display.
