I am looking for an android TV Box that is actually licensed by Android.

There are so many TV boxes out there but dstv now and netflix does not work with them.

You can get dstv now to work, but netflix is a pain in the ass and only shows 480p, you can also get one to display 1080p, but you need an air remote..

Telkom’s Lit box is certified by google as well as Netflix licensed

Your options are basically MiBox, LIT or, if you want to splash some cash, Nvidia Shield

I have a shield and that damn fan is driving me insane! One would think for the price you pay for it, they could have upped the fan a bit

I'm the.market for one
..is there a special remote, universal type if one has two different boxes? Is it easy install. Thanks for the advice this far

Comes with its own remote - not sure if you can control it with any other remote, but you can pair other bluetooth devices to it ( Xbox Controller for instance ) , and also a keyboard if u like.

I have one - will never use anything else... it just works.

You can also play Gforce Now games on it ( streaming games over the web ) - however our latency from SA just doesn't cut it for lag free play, but it's available...

The only Android box I ever owned that was worth it was a MyGica and to be honest - it wasn't that great. If it must be an Android box then get a Shield.

i wont suggest the mygica - dstv doesn't work natively.
I got the nividia shield recently and its pretty awesome, i'm still loading stuff and trying it out but so far so good.

I've got the plex setup with my main pc as the server and i can stream directly from that.
the voice controls are pretty decent as well, I've also set it up the remote to work with my tv so that's a plus cos i lost my tv remote. it also works with voice controls i believe.

Yeah, if u cannot get a Shield - Get the Mibox / Mibox S ( new model ). That would be my second choice.

Telkom box does not support Netflix.
Or am I mistaken?
