Android Useful Apps

on my Note3 and not getting email notifications.
Also Note3, I get (gmail) email notifications but when I swipe the notification to read it the email disappears.

I had the same problem last year with a S3. Got the Note earlier this year and now 10 months later the problem returned on the Note.

Hey fellow forumites.

I've got a el-cheapo android media center that can't handle XBMC very well.

Was planning on upgrading to something better but the wife has pretty much already spent my bonus :p

The installed video player can handle most formats and we've been using ES File Explorer to navigate to the relevant network shares (movies, series etc) to watch our goodies.

Does anyone know of an app that is just like a limited file explorer but includes the pretty eye candy from XBMC like covers, synopsis etc?

a file explorer, or a media player?

File explorer, the remotes etc only really work with the built in video player so I've found that using anything else results in less than optimal usability and playback.

Seems to be some weird ARM chipset that nothing is really optimised for.

ah ok, so you want something that shows the folder.jpg file in the folder as the folder thumbnail... hmmm I'm also a EX File Explorer user. Will try and think of the other one i used which was also good...

Hmm, haven't tried Plex yet. Will give it a go tonight. Thanks

I've got both on my HTPC at home. I think plex might be higher on resources.

Let me rephrase that. I drag, not swipe, the notification bar down to view the notifications. I tap on the email notification and it opens to an empty inbox.
