What phone do you have? It's a standard feature of Android to have separate settings for each wireless network. So you just save your static IP to the work once and leave the home one on DHCP.

Yeah you're supposed to be able to. All my phones/tablets could do that.

Got android gingerbread, actually rooted and custom Rom on it as well,

Even when it was stock, had to manually tick use static IP and only then would work,at work

I also initially thought it should see another AP and assign diffrent IP configuration to it

WOW,Didn't think anything with Gingerbread still existed. No chance of updating to something a bit more modern?

Plenty of cheaper androids still with gingerbread, actually its more common than any other android version, due to all the cheap Chinese phones out there.

Mine is running a custom kitkat unofficial
Rom,

Didn't see if there's a more updated version anywhere? But i doubt it.

But you just said Gingerbread, now it's Kitkat? Which one is it?

KitKat definitely has the settings I mentioned though.

New version of Tapatalk out - has quite a cool looking font. Had to clear the cache to get it to work.

font is nothing to write home about. i like standard fonts. pretty fonts makes me like a ... lady :( :D

You like standard fonts because pretty fonts make you like a lady? So... when you use standard fonts you don't like this lady anymore? That's just weird man, liking a lady or not shouldn't depend on what font you use!
