Android Useful Apps

I'd like to re-recommend Helium. I had a rooted S2 and just upgraded to an HTC One. I wasn't too keen on rooting the One straight off the bat and Helium let me stay unrooted but still get all my Whatsapp messages, game highscores, etc. All it needs is a companion app on your desktop operating system of choice and it works like a charm.

Yea also saw the post from MJ. Thinking of buying it, could you notice any effect on the battery?

Was a slow news Sunday but still a reasonable return considering my screen brightness is set to 80%...

Thanks. Btw if you ever feel like it try Gsam battery monitor, it shows per app usage.

Sounds good! Will give it a bash.

I can become a bit OCD when it comes to battery drainage (as I'm sure is the case with a lot of smart phone users). Sometimes battery monitoring apps exasperate the condition.

I was pedantic with my jailbroken iPhone to the point where so much is disabled or toned down or modded or tweaked that it ruins the experience to some extent! Promised myself I wouldn't "battery watch" with the S4...

Yeah battery OCD will turn your smart phone into a dumb one :).
I just keep this running in the background to keep tabs on any newly installed battery drainers that I can live without...

Looks a bit like Everything.Me. That was a nice concept, but slowed my SGS2 right down. Does this do the same?

Fortunately no! It's really fast and slick. I'm just unsure if I like the basic idea of a dynamic launcher. I'm more at home when I know exactly where I've placed each icon. That said, I think Aviate has potential.

Does it do navigation? Doesn't look like it.

No ... its like those paper maps we used to use ... only now in digital format for smart devices
I got mine with appgratis and for a day you could download unlimited maps, but I think I am going to uninstall it
