Guys, I'm looking for a good weather app for Android with South African Weather and a widget. I've looked around at a few, but thought I'd ask some opinions as well.

I'm currently using WeatherSA and Yr.no but neither have any widgets.

Asking for the most accurate one is like asking which series is the best to watch on a Wednesday. You'll never get a straight answer, lol.

2) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nrk.yr&hl=en

Hi, for weather, I like Chronus
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dvtonder.chronus&hl=en

It looks very good and displays weather from either Accuweather or Yahoo. I have two Chronus widgets, one on the lock screen which uses accuweather, and another on the home screen using Yahoo Weather

Can a Llama / Tasker profile not be created to perform that action?

I think it can be done with a workaround. I recall seeing an app somewhere that could record and replicate screen touches - it can be lunched with tasker to perform the screen touches.

So basically one would set a event to trigger tasker/llama to wake phone & unlock then open the app and then run the screen touch emulator to tap on "Start Trip".

But I can not remember where I saw that app that emulate screen touches. :/
The other catch is that one would need to delay the touch to start only after the app as an log on your location.

^^ Think it would be way to unreliable.

That record and replicate screen touches sounds really scary. Set up something like that to monitor a banking app then send the info back to the originator together with the device info...

+1 for Android Weather & Clock. Brilliant for watching two towns from one widget, and love the hourly forecasts.

And the Android weather widget can be made transparent plus it is interactive as selecting date brings up your planner, touching the time in the widget brings up the clock.. the weather goes deeper into the weather app

For weather, I just use the Google Now widget.

I find it to be the more accurate than Accuweather and Eye in the Sky , and gives me a location closest to my neighbourhood.

Tapping on the widget takes me to an hourly scale and longer forecast.

Will give Android Weather and Clock a go.

Just uninstalled Android Weather and Clock... It simply isn't 5 deg C outside!

AccuWesther isn't much better. Also a few days ago the refresh icon was pushed and web browser started opening up some scary sites.

So ja also seeking s decent weather app that's free or very cheap.

Again I say... Use Chronus

Would love to try Chronus but the only widgets I am interested in are Pro.

What do you all think about Google Now?

Not the prettiest widget is its biggest con, IMO. But accuracy and function seems to be high.

Only if you use Yahoo! as the weather source. The OpenWeather source is the same one as in Android Weather that gives wrong predictions and Accuweather has never been all that accurate.
